The answer was simple. Use overwhelming power and smash the whole world. "Do you feel it, you nameless villain I am about to beat to death? Do you feel the supreme honor I am about to grant you?"
"As for what that honor is," Belial did not dodge and slowly charged in place as electricity surged around him. Energy Field spread out, and black mist flowed through the gaps in his scales. "It is this."
Before Golden Beast reached him, a massive ring of uncontrolled shockwaves spread out, flipping everything around and stripping another layer of flesh from the charging body. He suddenly straightened his upper body as all kinds of energy converged, forced into violent reactions and bound by Energy Field as they gathered in his hands into blinding white light. Even the movement of his hands made space ripple and shatter, not because space was fragile, but because this move was inherently like that.
After all this, the charging Golden Beast arrived in front of him. With a furious roar, its back and elbows exploded outward, forming a golden shockwave that ground everything within thousands of kilometers behind it into Shard. A huge fan-shaped torrent of flame surged skyward as it swung its fist, a blow three times, no, five times stronger than its previous strongest attack.
In the beast's mind, this punch would at least heavily wound the Black Dragon in front of it. But when it looked up, its blood-red pupils saw the Black Dragon slowly raise his head, with a gaze even fiercer than its own. As the enemy finally rushed before him, the charging of Belial ended and he threw back his head, opening his mouth in Maniacal Laughter.
"That honor is to die under a move I almost never use on others." "Take this. Magnetic Field Rotation! Atomic Fission Power! Space domain, the power of vengeful souls, and the fusion of all three."
A blinding white light erupted and filled the entire field of vision, then surged into the sky. Around the battlefield, a stark black area appeared where space had already been shattered, revealing the void beyond the world. There was not much sound, because most of the aftermath had been driven into nothingness.
The part that shot into the sky carved out an extremely long black Rift with Rend, stretching beyond sight as if the world itself had been cut open. Belial let out a breath and looked at his hand, already repairing but still painful enough to make him regret acting on impulse. He admitted he could have dodged or finished it from range with Heat Ray, but chose to crush it head on.
The goal was achieved, and the cost did not matter since he could recover later. Complaining lightly, Belial turned and left, beating his wings as he departed the ruined battlefield. As for Golden Beast, it was dead without suspense, and there was not even a corpse left.
Within the coverage of that final strike, even the punch Golden Beast had not yet thrown was completely destroyed. The basic particles were scattered into the void, leaving nothing behind, and the soul had already been smashed apart and consumed. The massive hundred meter body vanished from the world entirely, along with its past and the records in Fate.
Elsewhere, Elfido opened his eyes with difficulty, his body shattered and only half remaining. His lips trembled as he spoke through dry blood. "Even with Fate secretly helping, it could not hold that Black Dragon for long. What just happened, and why can I not sense even a trace of soul?"
He looked at the decayed Iron Coffin beside him, its lid already exposed. Forcibly using the power of Fate had a price, and the once not fully shattered Fate Divine Kingdom was rapidly reassembling. There was no time left.
Clenching his teeth, Elfido carried the coffin and began moving toward a certain region. The rebirth of Dragon God of Fate could not happen from nothing and still needed a vessel, one chosen a thousand years ago. He never expected to be the one to carry out this step, nor did he expect time to be so urgent.
"The remains of the Rust Iron Dragon still have half left, just enough as a womb. Once I retrieve the last two pieces of Authority there, Fate will descend again, so it must be fast." After walking through space for a while, Elfido reached his destination. It was the domain of the remaining half of a Dragon God, the birthplace and grave of all Great Dragon, Dragon Valley.
"Looks like I have some work to do now. Bella, Lilith, you go on ahead. I will follow soon."
Safas let a bead of cold sweat slide down his face as he looked up at the sky. Above them, a pitch black Rift was being torn open and spreading under the force of Rend, something he knew all too well. It was a Spatial Rift, like a savage scar cutting straight through the world.
In just a brief moment, it had already stretched across tens of thousands of kilometers, and it was still expanding at an alarming rate. From his long experience, this could only be caused by power close to the level of Authority. The scale was far too large.
Normally, a small Rift could be left alone and would seal itself before long. But something this big was different. If anything triggered a chain reaction and caused large scale spatial collapse, the consequences would be disastrous.
That was why only someone skilled in Spatial Magic like him could handle the repairs. Ordinary people would risk being killed instantly just by getting too close to the lingering unknown force.
"Hmm… judging by this, we really are close. But we are still a bit late. Looks like the fight is already over."
"Yeah."
"?"
Seeing a scene of this scale, they already knew who must be nearby. Bella and the others were used to wide area attacks like this and showed no reaction, but Safas only broke into more sweat. How could they talk about something this serious in such a calm tone?
Did they even understand what kind of scale that Spatial Rift just had? If he had not been here to stop it, a few more rifts of that level could slice Earth apart like an apple. Just thinking about it made his head ache.
"Oh right, we do not need to go over there anymore. Old man, just come back here after you finish the repairs and wait. This should not take more than five minutes."
"What do you mean?"
"Boom!"
A trace of black appeared in the distance, and in the blink of an eye it filled the sky in front of them. It was an extremely deep black, wings beating as it advanced. Storms rose and fell gently beneath its claws, yet there was not a single sound of wind.
It was like a jump in space. One moment it was at the horizon, the next it was already here, without any of the violent gusts that should have torn the ground apart. It was so fast it felt like abusing Blink.
The wings spread wide as it hovered in the air, casting a massive shadow. After Bella expanded Lilith's original Floating Island into the current Floating City, its size had increased several times over. It was far larger than the Great Dragon before them, yet Safas still felt as small as a grain of sand at the foot of a mountain.
There was no doubt about it. The being before them was that Black Dragon. White light from extreme heat slowly faded between the gaps in its scales, and its massive body dwarfed any Great Dragon he had ever seen. Its savage head was lowered slightly, exuding a quiet menace.
He had seen it before, but never this close. Perhaps because of Lilith, it was not displaying its full ferocity, yet Safas still felt a heavy pressure pressing down on him. He could not help but wonder what this Black Dragon truly was.
Belial had said it was a fleshly reincarnation of half of Dragon God, but the reincarnated body itself should not have been anything special. What mattered was the soul of Dragon God. A body was just the result of a random pair of lucky Dragonkin parents, yet with only this body, fragments of memory, and part of a true name, it had reached such an unreasonable level of strength.
A true name itself did not directly hold power. It was just part of the password to log into Bahamut. The physical conditions were not ideal either, and without regulation from Dragon Soul, it should have grown into a deformed monster. So why was it this strong, to the point of seeming like a different species entirely?
Where did that strange sense of Authority come from? It could not have just been picked up by chance. And most importantly, why did a dragon beast body that should have been mindless possess clear self awareness?
That was what Safas most wanted to understand. He even had some guesses. Could it be that some god level being had reincarnated, just happened to share the same birth as Bahamut? No one could say for sure.
