They looked at their three opponents as they trotted their sides. Making Yukino and Aurelia focus on one of them each, Dawn, on the other hand, focuses on the one at Aurelia's side.
Soon, they started howling, which startled Yukino and Aurelia for a moment, as they suspected it was a signal to fight, though it is true, it was also for another purpose.
Their horns glowed a dark red, drawing mana from the surrounding area. This mana was soon released in the form of flames from their mouths, gradually gathering to become a breath of fire. The flames produced were dark red, an unusual colour for normal fire.
Although their flame magic was abnormal, Yukino and Aurelia could feel the heat from the flames in their mouths despite being further away. Even Dawn could feel its fur burning as it absorbed the heat from them despite being further away from it.

The wolves that had breathed out those flames had smoke coming out of their mouths. They were even panting for breath when they shot out those flames. Their horn, which was once glowing dark red, soon stopped glowing and just looked like a dark charcoal-coloured horn.
Seeing them, Yukino understood the situation, as she saw those wolves that display amazing firepower just suddenly exhaust themselves quite badly as they were panting for breath.
'I see... although that attack that they performed was quite powerful. It also comes with a consequence, which is that if they were to perform a powerful attack, they would need to pay an extreme cost of exhausting themselves.' Yukino thought to herself.

Meanwhile, Aurelia released Dawn from her embrace and sprinted towards the wolf she was focusing on with her formless aura coated onto her sword. Dawn, who was released, followed after Aurelia, wanting to join in the fight as well.
The wolf that Yukino was facing saw the daggers coated with an icy blue aura flying towards it and sprinted to its side, trying to dodge those flying daggers. As it was dodging, it noticed that Yukino was already near it, and she raised her two daggers coated with her icy blue aura to swipe her attacks rapidly at the wolf.
The wolf, sensing its death, suddenly turned its entire body into lively black mists, though where Yukin's dagger attacked, the mists turned into cold white mists with no life. Realising it shouldn't remain this way, the mists surged away from Yukino, soon transforming back into their normal form. Although it had some wounds, black mists were dissolving from around its wounds. It was also panting for breath, as it looked like the move it just did exhausted it even more, but it looked at Yukino with a glare, wanting to kill her.
Yukino was surprised when she saw that. She did not expect the wolf to suddenly turn into a black mist and surge away from her when she was attacking it, just to transform back into its shape but injured. Though seeing the exhausted state of the wolf, she also understood that the move it did exhausted itself, which was fortunate, as if the wolf could do it multiple times without a cost, it would be hard to fight, considering it is now night.
Aurelia, on the other hand, was dealing with the same situation. She confronted the tired wolf, and she was facing it with her formless aura sword against it. Though Aurelia is weaker than Yukino, she held up quite well against the tired wolf, with Dawn assisting her in battle due to her experience in the manor doing patrol.
When the tired wolf was going to counter back against Aurelia, Dawn prevented it from happening, as she shot out a small flame blast against it. It was quite hot and yet inferior to the enemy wolf's fire breath.
Though it was a good thing, as when the wolf was injured by it, Aurelia swung her sword in a vertical slash against it, wanting to slice from its head to its underbelly, but the wolf, knowing it would die if she hit, turned into black mist and surged away from her like Yukino's situation.
When it returned to its normal form, Aurelia noticed several wounds on its body, some large and some small, which were not where she had attacked. She realised that it could transfer its damage by transforming into its normal form from its mist form, which allowed it to reshape itself. If it lacked the mist, it could just not form parts of its body that it didn't need, revealing the wound on its back.
The wolf, however, was panting for breath as it exerted itself too much when it did that. It looked back to its fellow kind, which its fellow kind also looked back to it. Both of them, sensing their failure and death, nodded and sprinted to each other.
Seeing this, Aurelia and Yukino chased after them, thinking that they were running away from them, which they did not want to let happen, fearing that those wolves might come back again for revenge. Dawn followed after Aurelia as she chased after those wolves.
However, their thoughts were wrong, as once the wolves were going to meet, both of them turned into black mist, combining each other's mist and soon creating a huge mist storm, which soon collided into one area that would soon form into a wolf-shaped form.
Though the form was unexpected, it has one head but instead of four legs, it has eight legs. Instead of two eyes, it has four eyes. Though instead of expecting to have four horns, it just has two longer and thicker horns. It looked at the two women and one wolf pup with a glare after it had fully transformed. Though its size was just 1.5 times bigger than its regular size.
Yukino and Aurelia paused in their chase as they looked at the form with an expression that showed that they did not expect this at all.
'Although it looks threatening, I am feeling this is going to be an easy fight considering it is just one now...' Yukino thought to herself.
Aurelia, on the other hand, was processing the form with a dumbfounded expression. As she also did not expect this to happen.
It was then, Yukino noticed something from the wolf. Although it looked threatening and powerful, it had rough breathing as if it had exhausted itself even more when it transformed into that. It also seems to be mentally exhausted, as the wolf's four eyes were looking quite dulled despite glaring.

In her heart, she cheered as she wanted to say that was how it felt when she was once kicked in the stomach a long time ago, but did not say it as she could still remember that strong kick back then vividly, as it still haunts her badly.

The kick that was strong due to the momentum and also the icy blue aura, brought the wolf's head downwards to the ground and because of the fire that it gathered at its mouth for its fire breath, which then exploded due to its failure to control it, making the body of the wolf looks like it was going to explode as the glow of the fire could be see inside, making it look like a balloon that was inflated with too much air. The fire also seems to have leaked out from its wound, making the area around it hotter. Luckily, Yukino was coated in her icy blue aura, making the temperature around her body colder, and she leapt out of the area with no harm as the wolf exploded.
Though, unfortunately, the wolf was still alive, well, barely alive as it was panting for breath weakly. However, Yukino also exhausted herself too much as her injuries still weren't healed, and she had also exerted herself to use her icy blue aura, making her out of the operation, but...
Aurelia calmly walked towards it and coated her sword with her formless aura, and aimed her sword at the skull of the wolf. Sensing her presence, the wolf tried to open its mouth and tried to resist by trying to stand up, but Aurelia stomped her right foot with her formless aura coating it on the wolf's mouth and looked at the wolf with a glare and stabbed her sword into its skull with both hands, pushing the sword downward, though the skull hardness make her struggle as her formless aura wasn't strong enough to let the sword pierce through it easily, but in the end, it managed to pierce it completely.
The wolf, with its skull pierced, opened its eyes wide as it took its last breath. In its final moments, even though its eyes were slashed, it caught a blurred glimpse of a woman who had thrust her sword toward its head. In front of it, a little wolf pup wagged its tail happily, celebrating what it believed was victory.
The wolf's entire body soon slowly dissolved into black mists, as if it had exhausted its life in a fight that could be said to be one-sided despite having the power here.
Seeing this, Yukino and Aurelia relaxed and fell towards the ground as they had killed the beast. As both collapsed to the ground, legs folding into a W-Sitting, they panted for breath as they had just exerted themselves in this fight, although it looked like they weren't struggling at first.
Dawn, feeling its entire body tired, slowly walked towards Aurelia and lay on her lap. Aurelia, seeing it, calmly moved her hand and caressed the young wolf pup's head like a companion as she smiled happily, looking at the relaxed wolf pup now sleeping.
Yukino, who saw that, was suddenly reminded of the boy she was supposed to guard and turned her head around, just to see that the boy was still fine, which she breathed out in relief. Then she saw the unconscious boy start moving and open his eyes as he moved his upper body up as he woke up.
As I woke up, I felt like going back to sleep again, as my mind was feeling too lazy to even move or even stay awake due to exerting myself using Sloth's Authority.
"You are finally awake, sleeping beauty", Wraith mocked.
Shut up... I feel like I missed something...
I looked around my surroundings, I saw Yukino, Aurelia and the wolf pup, Dawn, and a Demonic Fire Shadow Wolf...

I decided to check myself if I am actually awake, as I feel I was hallucinating. I rubbed my eyes just to be clear, and even pinched myself, though it hurts, the reality that was proven to me shows that I was not hallucinating.
I looked at the demonic fire shadow wolf, which I am already familiar with, though its form was not familiar to me, as it had four eyes and eight legs. I could only suspect that when they were combining their strength, they were already exhausted, which was why they had eight legs instead of four and four eyes instead of two, as it was a lack of control to control their shapes, forming into an abnormal shape.
Why is there a demonic fire shadow wolf that can only be summoned if you had made a pact with it through a soul binding... Well, they are not that threatening and easy to kill, but the question is, why is it here?

I calmly analyse my surroundings to know what had happened when I was unconscious. Gathering all the scenes that had happened, I could conclude one thing. It looks like someone needs to hunt for dinner, as I suspect our dinner is gone due to one area being destroyed completely, though luckily, the tent was still fine.
I just gave up as I felt like I was missing an important clue, as I could not understand who summoned that. Maybe there was a character in the game that summoned it, or I may have forgotten a plot in the game that involves them.
After that, Yukino and Aurelia recovered a bit of energy and went to hunt for some food. They managed to find a deer for dinner, and if one question what I did. I simply sat at the camping area with a sleeping wolf pup on my lap as I warmed myself up with the campfire like a useless person.
Though the Demonic Fire Shadow Wolf's body was already gone, it had already dissolved into black mists and drifted away.
