Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 : A Father's Apology (1)

"Well I am sorry to interrupt, but am I needed anymore?" A calm voice sounded from the side...

The villagers gazes shifted from the waning figure of Caspera to the source of the voice. It was a man. He was about 6'3 in height and had white skin. He had blonde hair and was clean shaven.

He wore a white robe that covered his whole body with a small pendant. The robe had one strip of golden embroidery. The man had a calming face and a simple smile.

"I am sorry sir priest for the sight that you had to see. I am also really flustered that this has to happen. I hope that you won't mind to check my children just so I can be sure that there are no injuries affecting them."

Rene bowed down towards the man and said in a calm tone. This man here was a priest. He ranked higher than a follower but was still ranked pretty low. He was a sort of healer who used the power of blessings to cure the masses.

"No, no... that is not a problem." The priest chuckled as he moved towards the kids.

"I understand your circumstances. Now kids do not feel scared, I am here to help" He smiled and spoke.

The priest grabbed his pendent and started to chant something. His body started to faintly glow a light shade of golden. It was a calming sight, his voice was also angelic giving a sense of peace to those listening.

"Monitor Body" He suddenly spoke in a crisp voice, completing the chant.

Two circular runes appeared below Seth and Sarah. They slowly started to revolve and scan their bodies. Sarah's body had no sigh of injury as stated by the spell, but Seth on the other hand was not so lucky.

His body glowed deep red showcasing all his scars, cuts and bruises that were present all over his body. His whole body glowed with inhumane injuries. Many women were so badly scared that they fainted.

How could one be so cruel, a 3 year old kid had so many injuries all over his body. Some were fresh as a day while others were as old as a year old. People gasped seeing his condition. Seth could only smile feebly.

Seth was also quite shocked. The transmigration helped him overcome any pain that he might experience but this amount of injury was not right. Even monsters did not do such things.

The color on Rene's face faded as the air around him grew cold. Even the priest frowned upon seeing the result. The priest once again started to mumble some spell.

"Light Heal" He spoke lightly pointing towards Seth.

A light shot out of his hand and engulfed Seth in it. Suddenly the wounds on his body started to heal at a visible pace. The feeling was too good. He nearly moaned with pleasure.

It was ass if he was taking a hot bath after a hard day at work. It was as if countless soft hands were massaging every muscle of his body. There was also a subtle change. The moon has started to glow very faintly, almost impossible to discern.

The moon was the one present on his chest. His birthmark, but the change went unnoticed by the people present there. Seth's mind was also moving at high speeds.

He was excited about the future. This world had powers that possers such great abilities. The effect of this spell was no less than the all heal pill of his time. He was suddenly struck by a epiphany.

If the world had such great powers, wouldn't the world also have resources of different compositions. Rare and unique elements? Elements with some innate effects?

Different elements would mean different combinations. That would mean he could upgrade his machines, better yet upgrade maya. Seth's eyes started glistening. The glow faded as his injuries also healed leaving only light thin scars.

Seth's eyes gained the previous clarity as the glow faded. He made a mental note to himself to explore the new side that was introduced to him. He was raging with curiosity to understand the science behind it.

The healing glow faded and Seth had fully healed. Sarah hugged him and he ruffled her hair. The priest and Rene smiled at the sibling love.

"Thank you sir priest for coming with me on such short notice. Please join us for breakfast as a small thank you." Rene smiled and gestured him to follow him.

The priest smiled and followed him. The villagers bowed with respect and created a path. The children also followed their father. The crowd talked amongst themselves about the happenings of the day as the retreated to their own homes.

The priest was brought to the living room and was given a seat on the dining table. The room was not too shabby. Various animal skins were hanging on the walls and a little fireplace was also present in the room.

The room also had beautiful natural lighting, and the window directly faced the garden. The priest was served with chilled water and piping hot food. Seth was sitting on the corner with his sister lost in his own thoughts.

The priest ate to his fill and after he was ready to go, Rene paid him for his services and helped him out. The priest also gave the kids a few pieces of honey candy and blessed them.

"Brother are you okay now? Sarah was very scared..." Sarah slowly talked to Seth in a small voice.

Seth smiled at her and ruffled her hair as she tried to stop him. She puffed her cheeks and rushed out. Seth wanted to follow her but his father entered the room once again.

He motioned for Seth to sit on one of the chair and he obliged. Rene then sat beside him and place his hand on Seth's shoulder. Seth was taken by surprise but did not object. Rene signed and took a deep breath.

"I- I am really sorry son...." He finally mustered up the courage to say.
