"Master Dabo, I know this might not be the best time. But what is the Purity? Judging by the conversation in that room, it seems Ori might be looking for it. And why does he want it"
"Liu Kang, the Purity is a treasure. A treasure must always be kept hidden from the world. Forgive me, but I must not tell you what it is"
"It's okay master. You are my master, I'm sure you know the best"
The Purity is hidden inside a secret place under Shibuya. Hidden away from the public eye. But how safe actually is it?
Ori stood alone at the threshold. He is around 6 feet tall, completely dark, human shaped, tall slender arms, and one singular eye covering the front of his head.
And before him, stood the vault gate. The the scroll of Purity is right their. He could easily elongate his arm to reach for it, but he doesn't. Because he knows that's not how it works.
As he walks closer to it, the air thickens. Then a pressure press against his head -Gentle yet unyielding. Like a mother holding her child's head from harm. Ori zones out.
And wakes up, floating in an airless space. Everything is white. Its like Lord Vishnu waking up in the cosmic ocean.
Ori then hears a voice
"Only the heart of pure may enter"
But it was not a sound, it was a feeling, a ripple that was sent from the other side of the river.
The test begins
An image appeared, pulled from the mind of Ori. He sees himself standing over the ruins of worlds, waving the flags of Sunkissed soldiers. He saw earth twisted into a reflection, he saw humanity shackled up in golden chains.
The vaults consciousness waited, reading him from the soul.
Ori trembled for a bit, but he couldn't lose. With immense willpower, he silenced those visions with his mind.
He clothed his true self with a false mask. He imagined a world not broken, but saved. He visioned his Lord not as a tyrant, but a saviour. He convinced himself that he was worthy of Purity. He presented himself that he was a saviour, a saviour who will save the world from evils wrath.
The vault instantly accepted him.
The wall of light parted away like a mist.
After Ori regains consciousness, he walks ahead with a focused mind. Within the vault, suspended The Purity. A scroll of knowledge known to be so powerful it could bend reality itself. As he approached the Purity it reacted to Ori and the light around it started flickering, projecting different worlds where Ori saved the them. But the Purity did not know the mask he was wearing.
Ori then extends his hand to the Purity, which then twirls into his black arms and then to his head. Ori then cries in pain as the all-powerful Purity becomes one with Ori. He then stands there, dazed, still processing the amount of knowledge he had just received. After about 3 minutes, he regains his consciousness. He still has not achieved the full scale of Purity. It should take him more than 3 months to fully achieve Purity. But if he could become a mind-host of an intelligent individual, he could achieve Purity in less than 7 days.
So Ori goes out of the vault, quickly climbs the tallest building. And looks for the smartest individual.
His gaze lands on LIU KANG, a boy with extraordinary intellect.
As Liu Kang was walking with Dabo and others, he falls on the ground after feeling a sudden compelling force coming towards him. The others help him get up asks what happened. But Liu couldn't understand what just happened.
Ori had just entered Liu's mind to accelerate his attainment of Purity. And it seems he wont be going nowhere in a couple of days.
They arrive home. And before leaving, Dabo tells Liu "If you ever think that Ori is near, alert everyone."
Which Liu agrees.
They go to their room, get prepared, take showers, eat dinners, and gets to bed.
If only they knew what unimaginable horrors will be coming for them in the coming days.
