John had not been to Rave's actual room before. They typically hung out in the video game area instead. The order in which their relationship progressed was jumbled. John was fine with that.
Stepping into her room was like being embraced by Rave's entire personality. Everything from the fuzzy red carpet to the techno merchandise plastering the walls was flashy and colourful. He recognized Monstercat and Tomorrowland, everything else was outside his frame of reference. Two windows allowed light to flood in, illuminating largely unused beanbags and a large palm plant that made sure the corner it stood in didn't feel as empty. A gaming laptop occupied a black table, right next to her absurdly large bed. The mattress was barely visible under the myriad of pink and black pillows.
