Ryuya, disguised as King Sterry, sat upon the throne of Drum Kingdom, observing Dragon through the illusions of Zoro and Sanji.
A subtle smile played on his lips.
Dragon led the illusory Zoro and Sanji out of the palace, intending to bring them to Luffy.
But they were immediately surrounded by a large number of mechanical soldiers.
A particularly large robot stood before Dragon—Wapol, the former king of Drum Kingdom, now completely transformed into a sixth-generation mechanical soldier by Ryuya.
He retained his original Baku Baku no Mi abilities, and the advanced alloys used in his construction made him incredibly powerful.
His mere presence exerted immense pressure on Dragon.
However, the robot's movements remained mechanical, predictable. Dragon wasn't overly concerned.
He told Zoro and Sanji, "Escape now before they completely surround us."
Zoro and Sanji nodded, then performed an unexpected act—they stabbed Dragon in the back.
Ryuya had imbued the illusions with Armament Haki to maintain their forms, though the Haki was not particularly strong.
Still, with two "puchi" sounds, Dragon felt a sharp pain as blood welled up. He gasped in surprise, turning to see Zoro and Sanji.
He couldn't believe Luffy's crew would attack him after he'd rescued them.
Zoro and Sanji withdrew their daggers, preparing to strike again.
Dragon, however, transformed his hand into a dragon claw, coating it in thick black Armament Haki, and struck them both.
Zoro and Sanji were sent flying, but due to Ryuya's awakened abilities, the illusions persisted, feigning coughs of blood.
Luffy, having snuck out for a preemptive reconnaissance during his recovery training, witnessed this scene.
His eyes widened in disbelief. He couldn't comprehend why his father would attack his crew.
"Dragon!!!" Luffy roared, his voice echoing through the snowy forest, startling several carnivorous rabbits.
The rabbits, having learned from previous failed attacks against the robots, fled immediately.
Dragon was surprised by Luffy's sudden appearance.
"Luffy, they ambushed me…" Dragon began, but Luffy, using his Gomu Gomu no Mi abilities, launched a powerful attack.
"Gomu Gomu no Gatling!"
Dragon instinctively closed his eyes, expecting a painful blow from his son.
But instead of pain, he felt nothing.
Opening his eyes, he saw Luffy's attack had struck Wapol, who'd been positioned behind him, preparing a surprise attack. Luffy had intercepted Wapol's strike.
"Those two couldn't be my crewmates.
My crew wouldn't do that," Luffy declared.
Dragon looked at Zoro and Sanji.
"Let's take care of this robot first."
For the first time, Dragon and Luffy fought together, though Luffy's current strength was limited, providing only support while Dragon launched the main attacks against Wapol.
Unbeknownst to them, the illusory Zoro and Sanji dissipated, leaving no trace.
Ryuya rose from his throne, approaching the real Zoro and Sanji.
"Your execution is imminent.
Do you think your captain can save you?"
Zoro and Sanji, unaware of Ryuya's actions against Dragon, were bound and helpless.
Sanji pleaded, "Your Majesty, please let us go.
We were just looking for a doctor. Our friend is sick.
We haven't done anything wrong."
But Ryuya's true objective was to lure Dragon and Luffy.
He remained unmoved by their pleas.
