Chapter 30 - NSGT: Chapter 30

---

"In Kirigakure, ninjas must kill all their classmates upon graduation. Only the last one remaining can graduate."

"Well, it's basically raising people using the Gu-poison method."

Ninjas raised under this system become quite powerful.

But naturally, they also basically lose their humanity.

Within this bloody mist, the two stepped through the entrance of the Ninja Academy.

Inside and outside the school instantly felt like two different spaces.

The oppressive fog that nearly stifled breathing dissipated completely; the entire Ninja Academy was clearly visible, without even a wisp of mist.

But even though everything was suddenly clear and visible... the school, like everywhere else in the village, exuded a tense and suffocating atmosphere.

Hatake Kuroshi could sense the students in the school were quite scattered, numbering around twenty to thirty in total.

But they all tried their best to hide themselves; not a single person was visible in plain sight.

"You... are you here to apply for teaching positions?"

The guard hiding in the small booth by the school gate suddenly poked his head out and asked Hatake Kuroshi.

The application form in Hatake Kuroshi's hand looked like the Book of Life and Death to him.

Teaching in this place meant putting your life on the line.

"Hm~ Yes, but I don't see anyone in charge here?"

Hatake Kuroshi smiled, holding up the application form, tilting his head playfully.

"I'm in charge here. You can just register with me."

"Most of the teachers here have run off by now, and the relationships among the students inside are very tense."

The guard's eyes flickered as he extended a form.

Seems like he's hiding something from us.

Hatake Kuroshi thoughtfully sized up the guard and wrote his name in the teacher application spot.

As for Shisui, he was listed on the form as Teacher's Assistant Mochizuki.

"If I find the work here unsuitable, can I just leave on my own?"

Hatake Kuroshi asked casually while signing the paper.

The guard looked as if his weak spot had been poked, his eyes flickering as he fell silent.

Only after Hatake Kuroshi finished signing did he retrieve the form and reply in a low voice.

"According to the regulations, you can..."

"...Currently, no teacher has ever left here alive."

"If that's the case, it'd be a miracle if they could recruit any teachers~"

Hatake Kuroshi wasn't particularly surprised.

Besides Kirigakure's almost insane graduation system... under Obito's control, outsiders basically had little chance of getting out again.

ANBU would start following them shortly after they entered the Land of Water.

Teachers who escaped from the school would likely be dealt with within the mist.

The guard gave an awkward smile and took out two clean keys from the drawer, handing them over.

"Since you've already come in, just try to adapt."

"These are your dorm keys. Second room from the left on the third floor."

"Since I'm already here, I definitely won't leave. Thanks, Uncle."

Hatake Kuroshi took the two keys, showing a bright smile, turned, and casually tossed one to Shisui beside him.

Watching the two step into the campus, the guard fearfully retracted his head and closed the main gate.

"Can this even be called a school? There isn't even an entrance test for teachers."

"Doesn't this mean just anyone can come in and be a teacher?"

Shisui felt a sense of unease as he surveyed the surrounding buildings.

There were many damp puddles on the ground, and dark green moss grew near the buildings or in crevices.

An air of decay permeated everything.

It was also strange that Hatake Kuroshi could obtain an application for such a place.

Kirigakure used almost pathological strategies to prevent people from entering or leaving, yet when it came to the educational project of guiding the next generation... they were extremely casual, even seemingly perfunctory.

"People who can get the application information aren't ordinary people~"

"Compared to learning, this place is more like a training ground. Teachers are just sparring partners."

Hatake Kuroshi waved the application form clipped between his fingers and looked pointedly towards the building beside them.

Shisui followed his gaze, looking thoughtfully at the nearby floors.

"These students seem to be wary of something. They're in bad shape, looking like they haven't rested for some time."

"It's too chaotic; many people have strange chakra flows."

Shisui rested his chin on his hand, carefully observing the students scattered throughout the building floors.

There weren't many, but each one was hiding as best as possible.

"Ooh—found it! Looks quite big~ No wonder it's a two-person room."

Hatake Kuroshi placed his hand on his forehead, stood on tiptoe, looking upwards and swaying slightly from side to side.

Clearly, he wasn't looking at the same thing as Shisui.

Tsk.

Shisui mentally scoffed, expecting Hatake Kuroshi to do something normal was simply overestimating him.

"Dealing with the students here won't be difficult. Let's go check out the dorm first."

Hatake Kuroshi grinned, pulling Shisui towards the nearby staircase.

Unsurprisingly, the person these students were wary of should only be one individual.

—The one most likely to graduate.

There are always one or two exceptionally talented individuals during school years. In a normal school, it would just lead to jealousy.

But here, a moment of carelessness could lead directly to one's demise.

As Hatake Kuroshi and Shisui approached the stairs, a slightly childish voice suddenly sounded in their ears.

"Quite bold!"

"Still daring to come here and be a teacher now!"

Although the voice carried childish naivety, the opening line was undeniably arrogant.

The small puddles on the ground gradually connected as if conscious, the liquid slowly assembling in mid-air into the form of a child under ten years old.

Short, white hair lay flat against the sides of his face, purple eyes leaning towards white.

An arrogant smile hung on his face, revealing a set of white, shark-like teeth to the two.

Kirigakure's genius prodigy capable of wielding the Seven Ninja Swords—Mangetsu Hozuki.

"It's the Hydrification Technique!"

Shisui, having experienced war, reacted almost instantly.

Before his body could fully reform, Mangetsu Hozuki pointed both hands like pistols towards the two.

"Water Gun Technique!"

Surrounding water vapor rapidly condensed into small water bullets, incredibly fast and powerful.

The tiny water spheres shot towards the two like bullets.

While attacking them, Mangetsu Hozuki kept shouting "biu biu."

Shisui used Body Flicker to dodge away; the ground was instantly pitted by the bullet-like water shots.

Although just a child, the force behind his attacks was lethal!

Innocence and cruelty bizarrely overlapped in one person.

A child striking with such ruthlessness... isn't this a product unique to war?!

War involves attacking outsiders, yet this child directly uses lethal force against companions.

Hatake Kuroshi stood casually in place, stopping the water bullets flying straight towards him with one hand.

Instantly losing their impact force, the water bullets floated in Hatake Kuroshi's palm, reverting to small, malleable water spheres.

Hatake Kuroshi's palm maintained a close but not touching distance from them.

Mangetsu Hozuki stared at Hatake Kuroshi, his eyes wide with disbelief. He had never seen such a strange technique before!

Whether deflecting or dodging, those were conventional responses.

Turning water bullets into water spheres?! How was that possible!

"How did you do that...!"

Just as Mangetsu Hozuki's feet landed on the ground, a water bullet grazed past his cheek, striking the wall directly behind him.

The entire wall instantly caved inwards. Centered on the impact point, spiderweb cracks suddenly spread out over a meter wide.

"I haven't even put my stuff down yet. Children should practice patience~"

Hatake Kuroshi held his trunk in one hand and lazily waved at Mangetsu Hozuki with the other.

"Let's go, let's go, go check it out upstairs."

Hatake Kuroshi turned his face, revealing a smile, and excitedly pulled Shisui towards the upper floors.

Shisui stumbled along, glancing incidentally at Mangetsu Hozuki standing stunned beside them.

Crimson blood beads rolled down his pale, childish cheek. Disbelief was written all over Mangetsu Hozuki's face.

Someone actually managed to hit him with water?!

The speed was too fast; he didn't even have time to partially hydrify his body!

And compared to his Water Gun Technique, the power of that single shot was far greater.

Mangetsu Hozuki hesitantly touched his cheek, turning to look at the cracked wall behind him.

A bright light instantly flickered in his eyes. Those previous misfit teachers were not on the same level as this person at all!

Mangetsu Hozuki's voice instantly echoed throughout the school.

"Amazing!!!!!"

"Hurry down and have a proper match with me!! I'll be serious this time!"
