Alicia watched Sylvia and Sofia leave the hot spring with firm, unstoppable steps. The undead wooden door closed silently behind them, leaving the steamy room feeling even lonelier than before. Alicia's body was now transparent like thin, faintly glowing mist, the effect of her evolution into a spirit race.
She glanced at Stacia, her younger sister, who sat relaxed on the other side of the pool. Stacia had evolved into a fallen angel jet-black wings tipped with blood-red folded tightly against her back, her once ash-gray hair now pure white and wet, clinging to her snow-pale face.
