Chapter 254 - Chapter 254: Roy Will Come Save Me, Right?

In a lavish church in New Centralia, a group of devout believers held candles and knelt before a statue, reciting hymns even in the dead of night.

Strangely, the statue was a very peculiar-looking cross, appearing to be a large cross pieced together from four smaller ones.

Beside the group of reverent worshippers, a woman in a long purple dress stood out.

This woman looked to be around fifty years old, dressed ornately with an extraordinary air about her, clearly not an ordinary person.

The woman in purple watched the devoted believers with the eyes of a shepherd looking at her lambs, her face devoid of any obvious emotion.

After a while, a person in protective gear approached and bowed to the woman in purple.

"Your Eminence, the people watching the Mason family say that Rose Mason has already taken the Holy Maiden to Silent Hill and should be arriving at their destination soon."

Hearing this, the woman in purple revealed a faint smile.

"Just as I expected, my daughter couldn't resist after all! Perfect, then let her witness what true despair really is!"

After chuckling for a moment, the woman in purple turned to her subordinate.

"Go make arrangements and have the people in Silent Hill prepare. Tell them the day the Kingdom of God descends is not far off!"

"Yes, Your Eminence!"

The person in protective gear was about to turn and leave when the woman in purple suddenly called out to them again.

"What's the situation with Leonard Wolf (from Silent Hill 3) lately?"

The person in protective gear hesitated for a moment before answering the woman in purple.

"Bishop Sullivan seems to have been injured recently and has been recuperating. It doesn't seem like he's been doing much."

"Oh? He got injured? What did he do this time?"

The woman in purple fell into thought, and after a moment, noticing that the person in protective gear was still standing there, she waved her hand to dismiss them.

"Go do your work."

The person in protective gear bowed and left, leaving the woman in purple to mutter to herself.

"This time, no one will stop me from bringing the Kingdom of God down! But just to be safe, I better prepare a backup plan."

With that, the woman in purple left the church's sanctuary and entered her office, opening a door that led to another church. However, this church was shrouded in a hazy gray, as if the smog was extremely heavy.

After entering this church, the woman in purple went down to the basement, where there was a lavishly decorated cell.

Inside this luxurious cell were three women.

"Misty, haven't you thought it through yet?"

That's right, the three women imprisoned here were Misty, Wendy, and Carrie.

At this moment, all three witches looked weak and frail, as if they hadn't eaten for days.

However, for witches, simply not eating wouldn't cause them to look like this, so there must be a deeper reason for their current condition.

"Dahlia Gillespie, I truly regret saving you back then!"

The woman in purple shared the same first name as another Dahlia, so from now on, we'll mainly refer to her by her last name.

Misty gritted her teeth as she looked at the woman in purple. Swamp witches are generally kind-hearted, so for her to show such an expression, she must have suffered a great loss.

This story begins after Misty resurrected Wendy.

At that time, Ophélia, who was still parasitizing the Supreme Witch's body, was investigating the disappearances. After learning from Myrtle that Wendy had been resurrected, she set her sights on Misty, who was capable of bringing Wendy back to life.

In those days, Roy was dealing with the Reaper's Curse and the World Qualification Tournament, while Ophélia was hunting down Misty and Wendy around Boston.

Misty had hardly any combat abilities; all her magic was healing-based, so she was no match for Ophélia at all.

Fortunately, Wendy was very skilled in illusions. While her illusion skills couldn't compare to Elizabeth's or Lilith's, they were still among the best in the world.

By repeatedly using illusions to deceive Ophélia, they managed to escape, but both of them sustained injuries to varying degrees.

After that came the great upheaval at the witch school, where Ophélia was exposed by the little witch from the Apocalypse Society.

During that battle, the forest Carrie fled into happened to be where Misty and Wendy were hiding. The kind-hearted Misty had Wendy rescue the heavily injured Carrie.

Given the increasingly complex situation in Boston and Carrie's severe injuries, Misty proposed heading north into Maine. She knew that after the Salem witch trials, a group of witches had fled to Maine and established a sect.

This group of witches had always remained outside the Witch Council's jurisdiction and control. However, Misty had once saved the life of someone in this group, so she believed the Maine witches would take them in.

However, to Misty's surprise, some people don't necessarily repay kindness.

Of course, if it were someone like Ding Hai (a character known for not reciprocating kindness), you'd probably rather they didn't.

Upon arriving in New Centralia, Maine, Gillespie initially treated Misty and her companions very politely, providing them with food, herbs, and a place to stay.

But when Gillespie accidentally discovered the injured Carrie, the situation changed.

Carrie carried the bloodline of Samael, which in the Church of the King of Wrath would definitely qualify her as a Holy Maiden!

Coincidentally, the Order that Gillespie belonged to outwardly worshipped a holy woman with orange hair and wearing red robes (one of the sect's founders, a witch burned at the stake during the Salem witch trials).

In reality, this sect had long been infiltrated by the King of Wrath, and its core members had become a cult worshipping him.

This included Dahlia Gillespie and Leonard Wolf, the bishop of another faction.

The great fire twenty years ago was caused by Gillespie's attempt to sacrifice her own daughter, Alessa, to bring about the King of Wrath's kingdom, but this perfect plan was thwarted by a certain truck driver (the plot of the game Silent Hill: Origins).

Well, looking at it this way, America's truck drivers are quite talented. A certain famous director was also a truck driver.

Although the sacrifice failed, a portion of Samael's divine power still successfully descended into the human world. This power was divided into two parts, one in Gillespie and the other in Alessa.

After gaining this power, Alessa immediately separated a part of the world, creating a Silent Hill that existed in another dimension, hiding within it to escape her mother's pursuit.

Gillespie naturally wouldn't let Alessa get away. She tried to use the portion of Samael's divine power within her to compete with Alessa for control of the otherworld Silent Hill, but she ultimately failed.

Thus, a special Silent Hill world was born, sometimes always filled with thick fog and ashes (the surface world), and sometimes pitch black with monsters everywhere (the otherworld).

In reality, there are three Silent Hills: the surface world, the otherworld, and the normal world.

The surface world is currently controlled by Gillespie, while the otherworld is in Alessa's grasp.

(This worldview is a combination of the game and movie versions. The movie version is too simple, and the game version is too complex, so I've combined them.)

Samael's divine power couldn't heal Alessa's body, which was burned by fire, because Samael is the King of Wrath, not the King of Healing. However, this power allowed Alessa to remain immortal, although this immortality came with unbearable pain.

After all, Alessa was sacrificed by Gillespie using fire, and her entire body suffered severe burns, with even her internal organs severely affected.

It could be said that every second of her life was filled with immense pain. In this situation, Alessa's heart was quickly consumed by darkness and anger, and she longed for revenge against her mother, Gillespie.

Thus, Alessa began a revenge plan, and this plan was related to Rose's daughter, Sharon.

Coincidentally, Gillespie wanted to take back the other half of Samael's divine power from her daughter Alessa, so she allowed Alessa's actions to proceed.

As for Carrie and the other two, it was purely coincidental.

Because Gillespie wasn't entirely certain that she could handle her daughter Alessa, and Carrie's appearance was like an insurance policy.

Even if Gillespie couldn't deal with Alessa later, she could use Carrie to turn the tables.

However, to achieve this, Carrie's cooperation would be necessary.

Unfortunately, Carrie's senses were very sharp. Although she couldn't read minds like Nan (the little chubby girl in the coven), she could sense when others harbored malicious intent.

Gillespie appeared kind and amiable on the surface, but in reality, she was very wicked, which Carrie sensed.

Carrie told Misty and Wendy about this. The two initially didn't believe her and even wanted to test Gillespie, but their attempt ended in disaster.

After Gillespie realized what the three witches were thinking, she decisively plotted to imprison them.

And that's how things ended up like this.

Misty supported her weak body and angrily rushed towards the iron bars, only to be thrown back by an invisible red energy.

"Gillespie, you bitch! We'll never let your plan succeed!"

Gillespie looked at Misty expressionlessly. Being called a bitch to her face, how could she not be angry? But her years in a high position had taught her to control her emotions.

"You'll change your minds soon enough."

With that, Gillespie left the underground cell.

After Gillespie left, Misty instantly became dejected.

"I'm sorry, it's all my fault that everyone got into this situation."

Wendy shook her head.

"Don't say that, Misty! If you hadn't brought Carrie here, she might not have survived."

Carrie in the corner hugged her legs. Her skin was as delicate as solidified cream, thanks to Misty using her healing magic to help her burned skin grow back.

However, while her skin could grow back quickly, her hair couldn't.

So Carrie had a buzz cut, and if you didn't look at her impressive headlights, you'd definitely think she was a boy.

Carrie didn't speak. She wasn't the type to talk much anyway and was currently lost in her own world.

Roy will come save me, right?

After a while, several burly men in protective gear appeared with various torture instruments. Clearly, Gillespie was prepared to use force to make the three witches submit.

Soon, the painful cries of the three witches echoed from the underground cell.

The scene shifts to Roy's side.

Just as the blonde policewoman Cybil Bennett had said, the road ahead had multiple landslides, causing most of the road surface to be covered in mud and rocks.

Fortunately, Roy had Bumblebee on autopilot. Bumblebee could automatically sense the surrounding environment and choose the optimal driving route.

But Rose wasn't so lucky. Her driving skills were mediocre to begin with, and facing such extreme road conditions, she basically scraped her way through, moving very slowly.

It was just that the road was too narrow for Roy to overtake her, otherwise, he would have intercepted Rose long ago.

This kind of road surface was quite suitable for motorcycles, so Cybil was following very closely, constantly warning Roy and Rose to stop immediately.

Just as the three of them were in a stalemate, Roy received a phone call.

"Hello, this is Roy Black."

"Mr. Black, it's me, Myrtle Snow."

Since Myrtle was calling, it meant there was news from Madison's side.

"Ms. Snow, what's the situation?"

Myrtle clearly sighed on the other end.

"Mr. Black, you were right. Madison, Zoe, and Marie have indeed run into trouble. Someone used some kind of spatial magic to isolate them in the hotel. The people I sent to New Centralia aren't strong enough to deal with that spatial magic."

They're playing it that big? Even using spatial magic?

Regardless of the world, spatial magic and temporal magic are the most dangerous forms of magic, and those who can master them are generally quite powerful.

Roy felt that he might have underestimated the King of Wrath's cult. These people could not only brainwash others through dreams but also set up spatial magic to isolate people from reality.

An organization like this would rank among the top in all of America, wouldn't it?

"Ms. Snow, I will get to New Centralia as soon as possible to save them. Please don't worry!"

"Then I'm counting on you, Mr. Black!"

With that, Myrtle hung up the phone.

However, after hanging up, Myrtle sat silently at her desk for a long time before letting out a deep sigh.

This old woman, burdened with the responsibility of the Witch Council, still didn't quite trust Roy. She hadn't actually seen Roy in action herself, only heard descriptions of his strength from a few young witches.

Not wanting to take any risks, Myrtle ultimately picked up the phone again. This call was to the White House.

To preserve the last hope of the Witch Council, Myrtle chose to compromise with the federal government in exchange for their support.

After making this call, Myrtle showed a sad expression.

"I wonder if I will become a sinner to the Witch Council?"

Myrtle closed her eyes, and two lines of tears streamed down her cheeks.

After receiving the information, the White House immediately contacted the FEA.

The FEA quickly dispatched their strongest available force, which was the Archangel of Wisdom, Uriel Iris.

Hearing that the King of Wrath's cult was causing trouble again, Iris naturally wouldn't refuse to help.

However, Iris was currently at the FEA headquarters in New York State, so it would still take some time for her to reach New Centralia.
