Chapter 202 - Chapter 81: Assault on Chaldea

Upon entering the hall of the gods, I saw how the twelve Olympian gods had been reduced to an incredible three: Zeus, Demeter, and Aphrodite.

I couldn't help but think how much he benefits his children in their divine forms, yet as a machine god, he had no qualms about killing him. But knowing he's just following orders, like the machine he is, I don't see it as so far-fetched.

"Greetings, King of the Gods and of Olympus, Zeus, along with Demeter and Aphrodite," said Kirschtaria, giving a small bow as a sign of respect.

I don't know how much of a power difference there is between the two, but if Wodine could kill Zeus, I don't think he alone would have orchestrated the Atlas plan and all that.

"I see you've returned, and with that, you've brought a divine construct with consciousness and a soul," said Zuesr, reclining on his throne and looking at me. I could sense a certain tension within him at the sight of me.

Upon hearing the mention of the divine construct, I couldn't help but glance at my body, not quite understanding what he meant; I felt the same as always. Later, using the Kamigami no Gigan, I would examine my body to see if anything had changed that would cause Zeus to refer to me in that way.

"That's right, beside me is what the Throne of Heroes told you about, regarding summoning a hero from another era to help us." At that moment, Kirschtaria glanced at me sideways as he walked forward.

"My name is Dante. In this case, I'm a Heroic Spirit of the Assassin class, specializing in assassinating other Servants," I said simply as Zeus looked at me sideways; I didn't know if it was because of the divine construct or because of my lack of respect for things.

Before coming here, I had a conversation with Kirschtaria about my summoned class. We figured it wasn't a good idea to say I was an Avenger, so we changed it to saying I was an assassin specializing in killing others of my kind. If it became known that I was an Avenger and connected to destroying Olympus and the gods—Zeus and the others—if they weren't actively seeking my elimination, they'd be watching me constantly.

My vengeful nature told me I should draw my sword and cut off his head, but I knew that, as much as I wanted to, I had to be guided by logic, even if it was difficult. If killing the divine spirit Zeus was complicated, then the machine god who absorbed other machine gods should be five times harder to kill.

I focused my gaze on the two goddesses I once knew in life. In Demeter, I saw only madness and indifference, the latter stemming from her killing Persephone. Later, if I have time, I'll speak with her to see if I can turn her against Zeus for making her kill her daughter.

On the other hand, I saw Aphrodite, a very different woman from the one I once knew, a passionate and loving woman who tended to think more about her own feelings than others; now she was a cold and heartless machine, in whom I see a destructive and warlike side, as if instead of being herself, she were an extremist version of Ares.

At first glance, I immediately saw that no matter how I looked, I wouldn't find a way to bring her to my side, since the difference between the two was too stark.

Thanks to the observation hack, I was able to confirm all the information Wodine had presented to me before coming here.

"So you're the weapon of chaos summoned to destroy our enemy, the other Lostbelt?" Aphrodite asked, smiling at me, but it was a very cold smile.

"As a heroic spirit, I have no obligation to follow them or obey them; I only follow my master's orders and nothing more. I may have indulged their whims once or twice, but I didn't come here to please them," I said coldly, both because she wasn't the Aphrodite I knew and because of my apathy toward the gods of my class.

Aphrodite, upon hearing my answer, simply frowned and did nothing else.

"As Aphrodite says, you are a creation of chaos, according to Wodine, so there must be some vestige of chaos's power within you. Therefore, as much as I dislike you, you are useful, so allow you to do your job as long as it doesn't affect Olympus," Zeus declared.

"And so it shall be," Kirschtaria confirmed, staring intently at Zeus. "It's highly likely that other Servants will appear in the future with the intention of eradicating us, so Dante and the other Servants I plan to summon will take care of that, as that is my duty as the Crypter of this place."

"That sounds good to me," Zeus declared, rising from his chair. "If there's nothing more to say, we'll take our leave."

Zeus already knew from Wodine what was happening and about the appearance of the fantasy tree. If Kirschtaria's intervention, along with her servants, meant that his kingdom would become part of the new world, then he was fine with it, so he would let him do as he pleased as long as he didn't interfere with his mission.

"I hope you're not a disappointment," Aphrodite said, leaving without looking back.

Meanwhile, Demeter stared at me for a few seconds, which made me curious. She seemed about to say something but simply turned and left.

"That was better than expected," I said once we were alone.

"Yes, Zeus is a very proud god; I'm surprised he didn't say anything about her disrespect towards the gods. For a moment I thought I'd have to intervene to prevent them from attacking you," Wodine commented, looking at me intently as if he were accusing me of a great crime.

I just shrugged, indicating that I didn't care much.

I have an idea as to why Zeus didn't harm me, and it has to do with the fact that they knew I was a creation of Chaos.

Technically, I'm not, but that's my mythological origin, after all.

A creation of Chaos, the embodiment of attracting and destroying everything in human form and with free will. That's how some magicians and sorcerers saw me, as Zelretch himself stated. Kirschtaria likely summoned me in this instance as the purest form of Chaos, which is why I have the Yami Yami no Mi as my Noble Phantasm.

For them, or perhaps more specifically, for Zeus, I am an extension or part of Chaos itself. And since this Zeus is programmed to work for the primordial, being his reason for being, he may tolerate me, whether out of fear or for some other reason.

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure, but there must be something to it, and frankly, I don't have much desire to find out, since every time I see Zeus, his bloodlust only intensifies. You could say that situation—when you're with your boss's son and you have to put up with him even though you don't like him—is the closest thing I can think of to what's going on.

Kirschtaria just sighed at this.

"Let's go. We still have things to do, especially since we're planning to attack Chaldea tomorrow, so you need to be ready," Wodine explained, walking toward the exit.

...

Everything was ready. The fantasy trees were ready, the Lostbelts were ready; all that remained was to bring these pruned worlds into the world while the world underwent the bleaching.

The Lostbelts are currently outside the world, thanks to the Alien God. And when it opens, they will begin to take root in the world, supposedly to replace it.

I never knew why the Alien God wanted to do this, since I only reached Lostbelt 7 in the mobile game; my knowledge extends that far, and my memories regarding certain details are quite hazy.

"I never thought I'd meet a Beast candidate so soon," said Koyanskaya, who was beside me, watching without a shred of respect as I dressed up to resemble these guys called Oprichniks, creations of the Lostbelt king of the Servant who plans to freeze Chaldea.

"Yeah, well, you discover a lot of things every day," I replied without looking, already putting on the suit, which prevented me from seeing.

Koyaskaya just smiled at me and looked away.

We were currently at Goredolf's company, an hour away from leaving to visit Chladea, since he had bought the place and become its director.

Koyaskaya had been manipulating both him and the surrounding environment all this time to make sure the conditions for this whole thing worked out.

The moment I finished getting dressed, I could feel her hands roaming over my body.

"You know, after this we could do something else, you know, you help me and I'll help you; I can do whatever you want," she said seductively, pressing her body against mine. If I could, I would have tried to put her large breasts in my face, but the height prevented it.

Without thinking, I pushed her off me, grabbed her by the neck, and slammed her against the wall.

"You think I'm going to fall for your nonsense?" I said coldly. "I'm not so stupid as to not know what you want, and if you think I'm going to let you manipulate me, you're out of your mind."

She gripped my arm tightly, my hold cutting off her breathing, but the moment she tried to do anything, her eyes widened in panic, as she couldn't use any of her abilities.

I glanced at my arm, which was enveloped in darkness; I had severed her magical source, and it was being absorbed by me without pause. I can feel that chaotic and malevolent energy within her; I expected nothing less from the candidate for Baast IV.

This woman might be the most treacherous character in this franchise; if not, she's certainly among the best. I know perfectly well that her mission is to become Beast and that she'll surely use me to achieve it, and, incidentally, use me as one of her tails to complete her plan.

"If it weren't for Wodine's orders to stay out of trouble, I'd kill you right here and now," I made perfectly clear before releasing her, causing her to fall to the ground, breathing heavily.

"How cruel," Koyanskaya gasped, only to look at me and smile. "I think I like you a little more now."

I just shook my head.

"I'm cursed by crazy women." With that, I dematerialized to hide, because, as much as I disliked it, I had to stay close to this woman until we reached Chaldea.

...

Even though I was invincible to everyone, I still needed to get to Chaldea somehow, so when the helicopter took off, he jumped out to grab me from underneath.

The reason for this was that the Chaldeans could detect me when I got out of the helicopter, so when we were close to arriving, I would jump out and land not far away to go there and wait outside the base.

The helicopter hadn't been in Chaldea for very long, so now I was just standing in the middle of the road waiting for someone.

"So, after Solomon used his Noble Phantasm to make it possible for them to defeat Goetia, did that Fujimaru guy or girl defeat him with just their fists?" Kiss-shot asked in my mind.

As we passed the time, I explained the events that had happened before all this.

"You could say so, at least in very simple terms," I replied.

"Hmm, I don't know whether to believe you or not that a human defeated a beast like that, since I can say you're quite the storyteller," my lifelong companion said sincerely.

"You're exaggerating," I complained at the way she described me; the worst part was that I didn't know if she was way off or actually right.

At that moment, I felt someone appear on my radar along with several other people. None of them felt human, but they looked like one.

A few minutes later, a woman appeared who, in Japanese terms, could be mistaken for a yuki-ona, except she had a doll in her arms where all her magical power resided.

The moment they passed by where I was, she dropped me, revealing my presence.

The men behind her, who were dressed the same way and whom I recognized as the Opríchniki, pointed their weapons at me.

"You must be the Servant that Kadoc said appeared to search for something in Chaldea," the woman said.

"Indeed, like you, I am a Servant under Kirsctaria's command. It's a pleasure," I replied, ignoring the soldiers to stand beside the woman and extend my hand.

She just stared at me, a little puzzled, before raising her hand as she looked at me, confused.

At that moment, I realized my mistake and quickly took her hand, pretending to kiss it—a gesture used to greet an aristocratic woman in her time.

"Well, let's skip the introductions; we'll have time for that later. Let's get this done quickly so we can return as soon as possible," I said.

"I agree with you on that; the sooner I return to the Tsar, the better," the woman said, continuing on her way. I followed behind her.

Seeing that I wasn't an enemy and that the woman hadn't asked to attack me, the men behind me simply continued on their way.

After about three minutes of walking and a few impossible leaps for a human, we arrived at the gate of Chaldea.

I saw a camera and an intercom, along with a code box and a reader, presumably for entering the place.

"You can open it; that way I can prevent Viy from fully manifesting," the woman asked, looking at me.

I just shrugged, indicating that I didn't care, and, walking to the gate, I couldn't resist ringing the doorbell.

After a few seconds, a voice came through the speaker.

"This is a private place. How on earth did you get here?" someone said, sounding both fearful and threatening.

"Knock knock," I said.

"What?" the person on the other side said.

In response, I imbued my sword with Haki and with a single punch, I smashed through the door, knocking down the men behind it, ready to intercept us.

I entered the building only to have an alarm blare throughout the entire place. The woman appeared beside me, staring.

"Why didn't you do that from the start?" she questioned.

"For the element of surprise," I explained, stepping past the men who lay unconscious on the floor from the punch I'd given the door.

As the oprichniki murdered the unconscious people, fully demonstrating his lack of humanity, I heard several people running toward us.

"Don't move," one of the men said; they were part of the helicopter I'd traveled in.

In response, I summoned the Buster Sword in my hand. They took this as a clear sign that I was an enemy, so they opened fire.

I simply swung my sword, blocking all the bullets as I slowly walked toward where he was standing.

Once close, I used Soru to reach one of them and strike him in the stomach, lifting him off the ground and sending him crashing through the ceiling, shattering it before he fell heavily.

I gave the other a deep cut, hurling him against the wall. For the last one, using the back of my sword, I struck him hard, enough to make him vomit blood and send him sprawling to the far end of the long corridor, where he lay motionless on the floor.

None of them were dead, but humans couldn't withstand my simple blows for long. I was designed to fight gods, not mercenaries, no matter how magical they were.

"Good work," came a voice behind me. My fellow Servant walked past me, careful not to step on the unconscious men.

"Well, we'll split up here. We each have a mission to complete," I told her, to which she simply nodded and continued walking.

I stayed there waiting for everyone to leave. Once I was alone, I took out a map Wodine had given me so I could easily find the relic I needed to perform the summoning.

I sat down in a place where there was no blood and slowly began to retrace the route.

Now you might be wondering why I'm dressed like this, and the answer is quite simple. Holmes is on your side, and he and Da Vinci would only need to see me with my sword at first glance to know who I am, hence my disguise.

In mythology, the Fusion Sword has passed through the hands of many warriors, both Greek and Roman, so without seeing my features, they won't know who I am.

I might be using the Buster Sword and not the Fusion Sword, but both swords are practically identical, so it doesn't matter to me.

"Well, it's this way," I said, following the map.

After passing through several corridors and up and down several staircases, I finally arrived at the place where various relics were stored, and, curiously, several Saint Graphs.

Using the Kamigami no Gigan, I took one to examine it, discovering that they were all Saint Graphs of Servants who had already been summoned.

With these, the Master can summon Servants they once summoned in the past.

At that moment, I heard several footsteps behind me.

When I turned around, I saw three very peculiar women: one wore knight's armor, with lilac hair and lavender eyes; to one side, a woman I immediately recognized as a Servant carrying a staff; and between them, a young man with orange hair and amber eyes, who was looking at me with a worried expression, surely upon seeing me with the Saint Graph in my hand.

"Leave that where it was," the Servant couldn't help but say, pointing at me with his fist, which looked like a gauntlet.

"Not even a 'please' to ask me for something so aggressively," I said, making the three women's eyes widen.

"Hey, Mash, I see she's talking," the young woman whispered to the knight.

"I see that, Master, she must be a different kind of soldier," she replied.

I couldn't help but smile slightly behind my mask. Taking advantage of the situation, let's see what these three are made of.
