Chapter 45 - The Drama of Class D

After a pleasant weekend, Monday arrived. Hashima, having spent his free time in the dormitory chatting with students from Class B, prepared for the day.

Following his morning training, he entered Class B and saw Honami, smiling as always.

"Good morning, Hashima!"

"Good morning, Horikita," he replied, taking a seat. "We should first go to Mr. Xing's office to print the contracts, then sell the rules to Class D after school."

"Got it. I've prepared the handwritten new rules."

Honami nodded and pulled out a brown notebook from her bag. She had taken this task upon herself, as the last time, it was Hashima who had written the rules.

"Before going to Class D, should we contact Kushida?" Honami asked, holding her phone. "To ask her to keep the students after school, saying there's an important announcement."

"Honami, did you contact Kushida over the weekend?"

"Yes, I want to get closer to her because she's Hirata's assistant and has influence in the class."

Honami smiled confidently. "Yesterday, I learned new information from her. Want to hear more, Hashima?"

"Ah?"

Seeing Honami take the initiative, Hashima felt relieved. After crying, she had truly changed and was even acting without consulting him. It was impressive.

"Of course, Honami, I'm listening."

"Yesterday, we talked about studies," Honami said, looking at Hashima seriously. "Kushida told me many students in her class are very talented."

"In what subjects? Do they have high grades?"

"Kushida said sometimes, teachers ask difficult questions, and no one can answer, except one student who answers immediately, impressing everyone."

"Who is it?"

Hashima suddenly remembered something and smiled mysteriously.

"Kushida said it was Horikita Suzune, a very beautiful girl."

"..."

*Is it really her?*

Hashima rubbed his forehead, confused. Kushida wanted to expel Honami, but why was she talking about her? Were they friends or enemies?

"Hashima, do you know this Horikita?" Honami asked, worried. "Why do you have that expression?"

"No, I don't know her," he replied quickly, realizing the atmosphere had changed. "Why are you asking, Honami?"

"Nothing... I just thought you were hiding something."

"No, no..."

When the final bell rang, the students of Class B focused seriously. Thanks to Hashima's encouragement, they had developed a habit of studying attentively, making classes particularly quick.

Soon, Monday's final period arrived. Everyone knew Hashima and Honami were going to sell the rules to Class D. As soon as the teacher left, students approached.

"Hashima, are you leaving?"

"Yes, we're going to Class D. It's the second step in our point recovery plan."

Hashima smiled, pulling out the printed contracts from his bag. Like with Class A, there were forty, one for each student in Class D.

"Good luck, Hashima! We're counting on you!"

"I'm sure you'll succeed, Hashima. Your skills are evident."

"Honami, good luck too. I hope you recover the points without issue."

"Yes, don't worry."

Honami nodded toward the Class B students. Time was pressing, and she had already contacted Kushida. They needed to hurry.

"Let's go, Hashima."

"Okay."

The two took their rule notebooks and contracts, heading toward Class D under their classmates' encouraging gazes.

Class D, being the last, was a bit far from Class B. Hashima and Honami walked side by side, drawing attention in the hallways.

Arriving at Class D, Honami was slightly nervous. Hashima, however, remained calm. He encouraged her with a look and entered the class with her.

As they had informed Kushida in advance, Class D students were still there, sitting at their desks, impatient. When they saw two people enter, they turned toward the door.

"Good afternoon, everyone in Class D! I'm Hashima from Class B."

Hashima greeted the class with a smile. He felt relaxed; after all, they were all first-years.

"Hashima, you're here."

Kushida, seeing Honami and Hashima enter, approached immediately with a smile.

"Yes, good afternoon, Kushida."

Honami nodded toward Kushida, then stood beside Hashima.

At that moment, a handsome boy approached. He looked at the pair and asked politely, "Good afternoon, I'm Hirata Yosuke, Class D's representative. Kushida told me to wait for you. So, you're the ones we've been waiting for?"

"Yes, Hirata."

Hashima nodded. He had to admit the boy was quite handsome, with a warm attitude and a confident aura. No wonder he was popular with girls.

"Can we ask for some of your time? We have something important to say, which is why we asked Kushida to keep you here."

"Kushida told me you had something important to tell us. No problem, I trust her."

Hirata seemed easygoing. After listening to Hashima, he turned to the class and said, "Everyone, listen up. These two are Kushida's friends. They have something to tell us."

"Is there really something important to say? I have a club to join, don't waste my time!"

A red-haired boy, sitting at his desk, spoke aggressively.

Two other boys reacted immediately.

"Yeah, I need to get back to the dorm. I have important things to do."

"Can you speed it up? Three minutes, that's all?"

"Yamauchi, you just want to go back to play, right? It's not a big deal to lose some time."

Someone mocked, seeming close to Yamauchi.

"You don't get it. Time is money. I need to farm to upgrade my gear and increase my strength."

Seeing the boys start to argue loudly, Honami looked worried. She hadn't expected Class D students to be so uncooperative. She glanced at Hashima anxiously.

But to her surprise, despite the negative attitude, Hashima remained smiling, as if unbothered.

"Everyone, can you calm down? This won't take much time. Trust me."

Hirata, as the class representative, showed his authority. He looked at Hashima, whose expression remained unchanged, and told the noisy boys, "Stop making noise."

Class D students calmed down slightly, as they respected Hirata.

"Hirata is really impressive. He deserves his role as representative."

Hashima complimented him, then stepped onto the podium to speak.

"Good afternoon, everyone. Some of you might have been distracted or didn't notice me enter, so let me introduce myself again."

"My name is Hashima, I'm a first-year in Class B. Nice to meet you."

"Get to the point and don't waste my time! I don't care about your name!"

The red-haired boy, still rude, shouted.

"This classmate, don't get upset. I'll speak now."

Hashima didn't get angry at his negative attitude. Anyway, he was here to recover points. Class D being considered the worst by the school, he had no intention of befriending these students.

"What I have to say to Class D concerns the peculiarities of this school."

Hashima naturally took the chalk left by the teacher on the podium and wrote on the board: "Have you noticed anything strange at school over the past week?"

Before coming to Class D, Hashima had planned his strategy.

Class D, unlike Class A, wouldn't easily believe a simple contract. They might even leave, complicating matters.

He decided to first attract their attention with obvious questions, then bring out the contract, and finally sell the rules.

"Strange?"

Hirata and Kushida looked at each other, surprised by Hashima's question.

"What do you mean by strange? I haven't noticed anything."

The boy who had reacted earlier seemed dismissive, thinking Hashima was pretentious.

"Yamauchi, calm down and let Hashima speak." Hirata looked at him and asked him to be quiet.

"Pff!"

Yamauchi muttered but didn't protest further.

"You've been here for a week. Have you noticed the school's unusual facilities?" Hashima looked at everyone, his tone relaxed.

"For example, why are there free products at the supermarket? And why is the vegetable meal in the cafeteria free?"

"Think about it. Every month, points are distributed. Why does the school offer free options? Isn't that redundant?" Hashima smiled. "Doesn't it seem odd to you?"

"Hashima, did you discover something?"

Hirata thought for a moment, then asked.

"Hirata, don't rush. Let others think. After all, we need their cooperation."

Hashima looked kindly at Honami and asked her to pass him the contracts.

"Once they've understood, I'll continue. It's the best way to convince them."

"But..."

Kushida was thinking quickly. She didn't know what Hashima and Honami were planning, but she remembered their weekend meeting.

*Are they seeking information?*

*For this scene today?*

"What you're saying is that some people won't have points anymore?"

At that moment, a slender figure stood up. It was Horikita Suzune.

Since hearing Hashima's presentation, she had understood. The answer to her questions from the past few days was linked to him.

Hashima, classmate, observer—all the information assembled in her mind.

"Oh? Who is this classmate?"

Hashima smiled, surprised by Horikita Suzune's acuity. That meant she had been placed in Class D for a specific reason.
