Disboard – Elkia Castle
Jibril watched quietly from the air above in the throne room, her wings shimmering with a faint, iridescent light as she observed the daily ritual of Elkia's rulers. Before her, her masters were engaged in their favorite pastime, bullying Stephanie Dola.
"W-why are you always picking on me?!" Stephanie shouted, her face flushed a vibrant red as she stood trembling before the throne. Sora was sprawled lazily across the seat of power, a handheld gaming console in one hand and a half-eaten snack in the other.
"Because it's funny, Steph," Sora replied without looking up, his thumbs blurring over the buttons. "Your reactions are a solid 10/10 on the entertainment scale. It's practically a public service to the citizens of Elkia."
Shiro, tucked into Sora's side like a small, lethal kitten, nodded in agreement, her eyes never leaving her own screen. "Steph... funny... like a puppy chasing its own tail."
Stephanie collapsed to her knees in dramatic despair, wailing about the dignity of the Dola line and the cruelty of the "Blank" siblings. Jibril tilted her head slightly, watching the familiar scene with a mixture of calm amusement and feeling to join in too.
She had been alive for an incredibly long time, long enough to remember when the world was carved by steel, sorcery, and the screams of the dying.
She remembered the Great War with a clarity that bordered on obsession. Those were truly the fun days. Battles that shook the tectonic plates of the world, rivers of boiling spirit-blood, and mountains of corpses that reached toward the heavens. And the heads. Oh, the heads she had collected.
Each one was a trophy of a life snuffed out by her own hand, a testament to her purpose. She had been created as the ultimate weapon of destruction by her creator and master, the Old Deus Artosh. Her race, the Flügels, were made to serve him in every way possible, and there were his soldiers, his pieces of death upon the world.
As the strongest Old Deus at the time, her master was unrivaled, and they were there to show his power and majesty to the world.
Then came the day Artosh died. The memory was still a cold, unpleasant stone in her heart. The war ended not long before, and with no war their master, the mighty god of war, could only live for long before he faded. Tet claimed the title of One True God, and the Ten Pledges were etched into the very fabric of reality.
Suddenly, the Flügel, beings forged solely for the slaughter of gods, found themselves in a world where violence was against the very law of the world.
Jibril frowned a little. That had not been a pleasant thing at the beginning, you could even say it was hell for them.
All their lives from brith was just violence, they were created for violence by a god of violence. Suddenly, they were now told 'you can't fight anymore', that's like telling a creature one day that you're not allowed to drink water anymore, it felt unreasonable, but nothing they could really do.
They adapted, as all apex predators must. Libraries replaced battlefields. The collection of heads became the collection of knowledge. Eventually, the boredom of the floating city of Avant Heim became too much, and combined with the book sharing law that was passed, much to Jibril's dismay, she eventually left the floating city and descended to challenge the King of Immanity, winning the Great Library of Elkia for herself.
She had spent years in the scent of old parchment, reading and collecting more knowledge, and after a while, it was even becoming somewhat boring with the lack of challenge.
Until the siblings appeared, they had defeated her in a game, becoming her new masters. She watched them now, her eyes bright with a fervor as they challenged the world, as they had conquered the Werebeasts, out-thought the Eastern Federation in a daring bet with the entire race on the line.
Things were becoming more exciting than they had been for dozens of years now, but a few months ago, something more impossible happened.
Her master, Sora, spoke of a 'System,' and the capabilities it had. Jibril was skeptical at first. Immanity could not use magic, and what he was describing was, in a way, magic.
Yet, Sora had demonstrated it: Probability Manipulation. It was weak magic, a mere flicker compared to her own spells and her Heavenly Strike, but it was magic. That had become a more interesting focus, an Immunity breaking the laws of the world and using magic when they should not have been able to..... she had been fascinated.
Was it Tet? Sora said no.
She had spent time after that almost every day trying to figure it out, asking her master differnt things about the so called system and she was more fascinated with it the more she heard, though that some what came to a halt when that dhampir came asking for help to save their race.
The little pest had made itself an annoyance to Jibril for taking her masters attention from her and from the system, then add that with the siren, and the flugels and the entire fiasco, jibril almost, almost forgot about what was going on, i mean can you blame her, in the span of a few weeks her masters had not only raised immanity back from near collapse but brought the Flügel back under a single banner. They had turned the weakest race into the masters of four nations. The flugel, the war beast, sirens, and dhampir.
It was only their kindness that allowed the other races to keep their freedom.
Oh, how wonderful were her masters.
Then came the mission.
Sora had explained the quest from the System. And when it was time for it, Jibril had monitored him with every sensory organ she possessed, focusing her mana-perception until the air hummed, yet when the moment came, her senses failed her. One moment he was there, the next, he blinked, and he was different. He claimed he had returned from another world.
She wouldn't have believed it if not for the raw power now radiating from him. She had immediately latched onto him, her hunger for knowledge turning into a fever. She had begged to know every single detail.
Sora told her of the fight. Real fighting. Blood. Death. War. He claimed he hadn't contributed much, but that didn't matter to Jibril. What mattered was the simple fact that fighting was possible again. Her heart raced, her blood boiling with a heat she hadn't felt in centuries.
She was a weapon. A being made for battle, and now, after so long a chance to her to battle had shown itself in the form of the one she chose as master. Truly, this was destiny.
"Master," Jibril whispered to herself, her eyes gleaming with a predatory light as she watched Sora laugh at Stephanie. She now had a new goal. Sora had already found a way to bring Shiro along to those other worlds because of his refusal to leave his sister behind.
If there was a way for that, then there must be a way for her to accompany them. She just had to convince them to take their ultimate weapon along for the ride. Her wings fluttered in anticipation, the feathers glowing with a soft, hungry light.
'Oh my masters, you truly are the ones for me.'
DXD World – Shizuoka City
Kenji walked a short distance from his home, his boots crunching on the gravel path. He was taking a walk to his new base. His basement laboratory was no longer sufficient for the scale of his ambitions, it was a workshop, whereas he now needed a proper base.
Before him stood a large palace. Because what else could he call this, he had instructed his golem to build him a building, and some of his servants had begged to have a hand in the creation of the base, so he gave them materials and the golems, and it seems they had gone all out. Guess having a dozen devils and magicians really was helpful.
He could sense the wards around the place to help conceal it, and a barrier to protect it, they were weak, to be honest, not up to something he could do, but he guessed that for their level, it was something. He'd have to enchant the place himself later.
This place was to be His Faction Hall.
As he stepped inside, a wave of chaotic energy hit him. Thirty or so servants, a mix of human mages, renegade exorcists, and low and mid-tier devils, were scurrying like ants in a disturbed nest.
Books and papers were scattered everywhere, some were hovering in mid-air, held by telekinesis, while others were pinned to the walls, everyone and he meant everyone, even the ones that didn't follow him to DC had heard what happened from the ones that went with him and seen how they had grown in power.
Now, all of them want to make themselves useful to gain something out of it. He had ordered them all not to speak of the whole world jump thing, though.
He watched as they all went through the things that they had gotten from DC.
Ever since his return from the DC Multiverse, his magicians had been in a state of manic ecstasy. They had brought back Atlantean magic scrolls they had found while they were roaming around, spellbooks from wherever his people had sensed magic, and technology from luthour, some surprisingly were even tech mixed with magic, though that didn't interest them all that much.
"Ahem."
The room froze instantly. Thirty heads snapped toward him. Without a word, they dropped to their knees in perfect, terrifying unison.
"Master."
'Did they practice that' he sweat dropped.
Kenji looked at them calmly. It was a strange sight. To the outside world, these were slaves, yet, looking into their eyes, he saw no resentment. He was sure after that, even if he released them from their chains today and told them they were free, ninety percent of them would burst into tears and refuse to leave.
They understood that Kenji Takahashi was a gateway to something no one else in the world had, and they would be fools to give that up.
"Rise," Kenji commanded.
A reincarnated devil named Alman stepped forward. He was a capable magician, Kenji had "acquired".
"My lord, how may we be of service? We are currently working with the spells in the tomes that have been brought back from the other world," he said, "We had been trying them out and seeing their effects in our world."
"That can wait," Kenji interrupted, his voice steady. "I recently concluded discussions with the Sun Goddess, Amaterasu, and Lady Yasaka of the Yokai."
"I have gained official control over this land. The city of Shizuoka now belongs to me." His deal with the Sun goddess had been successful, and they had transferred the ownership of it to him when he sent them the first shipment of mana stones. Kenji had spent a lot of time in his ID to get all that, he really needed to set his golems to be farming this for him in his ID.
He looked across the room, his golden gaze scanning them all. "I intend to establish my own faction. I want to turn this place into mine and mine alone, make myself and those who follow into an official faction of my own. We will be the 'Neutral' ground that the world fears to touch."
The humans in the room widened their eyes. To start a faction in a world dominated by ancient pantheons and factions hundreds of years old on your own was not an easy task.
"You may not have chosen to follow me of your own free will initially," Kenji said, his voice growing firmer, echoing off the reinforced walls. "But you are mine now. And that makes you my strength. From this day forward, I will actively provide you with the resources, the artifacts, and the knowledge to reach levels of power you have only dreamed of. I will help you become the masters of your craft. In return, your loyalty is to me and my family alone. Do any of you oppose this?"
Silence filled the room. Then, all thirty bowed their heads again.
"If that is your will."
'No way in hell was this not practiced,' he thought.
Kenji smiled faintly. It was a little theatrical, perhaps even a bit villainous, but it worked. Things were progressing for him. He had a territory and a growing army besides his golems.
