Chapter 134 - Chapter 133: The Slash

The boy drew his blade—there was no dazzling flash, no radiant gleam.

All the sharpness, all the violence, was condensed into that single instant of the draw. When the Black Unicorn left its sheath, all prior buildup vanished—like a drop of water falling into a still pond. Only when the plop echoed out... did anyone realize—

Someone was bleeding.

The slash was unbelievably fast.

Like a rainbow piercing the sun, a comet crashing into the moon.

Light eclipsing the stars, morning glow shattering the dawn.

Lin Mo stepped forward with the blade—or perhaps the blade pulled him. His speed hit the absolute limit of what his body could achieve.

The brute didn't even have time to blink before the katana reached his chest.

He tried to resist. But this time, his instincts didn't kick in fast enough. The accumulation of wounds had finally dragged his body down.

The boy's speed had reached a level that even the Berserk implant's predictive combat algorithms couldn't calculate in time.

The blade flashed.

Slash.

The slender edge sliced through the brute's artificial skin over his heart—angled and deep, cutting between the fifth and sixth ribs along the left clavicular line.

The edge tore through muscle, snapping reinforced ribs, carving into the beating heart beneath.

Normally, a strike would stop here.

The brute's body was far tougher than expected, and the Berserk implant should've adjusted his posture and cyberware to resist further damage.

But this time, the implant failed—like a circuit shorted out.

The Black Unicorn kept going.

It pierced the heart's protective layers—before a single drop of blood could spray out, the blade slid sideways.

Flesh parted like warm butter. Even the ribs on the right couldn't hold back the slash. Lin Mo's movement drew the blade through like it was breaking free from a cage.

A single cut from the apex of the heart across to the liver—clean, deep, and fatal.

The blood came late.

Beads formed like tiny rubies—precious, pristine, floating in the air within reach.

Lin Mo flicked his wrist, sending those rubies scattering from the blade like shaking rain from an umbrella.

He stepped back slowly—not rushed, not hurried.

Two steps later, the Sandevistan shut down. Time resumed its natural pace. Everything around him came alive again.

The blood in the air grew even more vivid. The beads were the overture. The gushing torrent that followed was the full symphony—but no one was left to admire the beauty of it.

Lin Mo had already stepped out of range.

The brute looked like he'd lost everything. His massive body sagged and swayed forward in staggered steps.

All strength had been drained into the gaping wound in his chest. That slash had carved a black hole into his heart, sucking out his life force.

Blood poured without end.

No one could live without a heart. At least, not with modern medicine. Not yet. Humans hadn't broken the limits of carbon-based life.

Was it over?

Jack stared, wide-eyed, refusing to miss a single detail.

Even back when he watched boxing matches with Viktor, he'd never been this focused—this entranced.

And yet, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't track their movements.

The only way to tell what was happening was by counting the wounds appearing on the brute's body.

Only when Lin Mo deactivated the Sandevistan and returned to normal time did Jack snap out of it—just in time to see the brute collapse, that gaping wound on his chest spelling out one thing: he wasn't going to make it.

"Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit—kid, that was fucking insane!"

Jack was beyond hyped. Words weren't enough.

The crowd echoed his excitement. The Mox members around them screamed with joy—hugging, stomping, waving their clubs like they'd been the ones doing the killing. Some even fired shots into the sky.

It had only been a minute or two—but it felt like hours.

The duel had been too fast, too fierce to breathe through.

They hadn't seen Lin Mo at all—only the cuts on the brute's body, appearing one after another, until that final flash marked the end.

That slash… it was like catching a glimpse of the moon's beauty in full bloom.

No one dared to underestimate the brute. His bulletproof, blade-resistant body had already proven how terrifying he was.

If any of them had tried to fight him, casualties would've been a certainty.

"Damn, kid, I'm running out of words here—you blew my fucking mind! If you hadn't shown that move tonight, I'd never have guessed you were this strong!"

Jack beamed, arms open, stepping forward for a massive hug.

But he froze in place the moment he saw Lin Mo's eyes.

The boy shot him a cold look, filled with a commanding force that left no room for doubt.

"Don't come any closer."

Jack halted mid-step, blinking in confusion—then followed Lin Mo's gaze to the brute on the ground.

Yes—no one could live without a heart.

But installing a second heart? That was possible now, thanks to advanced cyberware.

The brute wasn't dead—yet. But his earlier fury was gone.

He crouched low, exhausted and barely conscious. Nanobots in his system worked overtime to stop the bleeding.

But the wound was massive. Even for them, it wasn't easy.

Second Heart.

Lin Mo remembered the cyberware from the game—the one that gave you a second life.

He'd been in this world a long time now, and still didn't fully understand how it worked.

But it clearly did.

Still, it didn't make you pop back up like in the game. There was no instant recovery.

"Strike hard once, weaker the second time, weakest the third."

This was never more true than in battle.

The brute had peaked—and now, even with a second heart, he'd lost his edge.

Lin Mo pressed the Black Unicorn's tip against the man's brow. The brute didn't react—his eyes glazed, lips murmuring one word:

"Reiko..."

Something about this whole night was off.

Lin Mo didn't believe this was just some random cyberpsycho incident.

There was someone behind the scenes—watching. Pulling strings. This brute? Just a pawn. A weapon pointed at the wrong person.

But now... it didn't matter.

It had to end.

Sandevistan: activated.

To Jack, it looked like Lin Mo vanished on the spot.

Seconds later, the brute collapsed silently—no breath, no life.

Lin Mo slowly sheathed his katana. Not a speck of blood stained the blade.

It gleamed like it had just been forged.
