[Simulation Start]
[Early the next morning, you wake up inside the studio building. Beside you is David, the one who woke you up — the two of you still have class today, so sleeping in isn't an option.]
[The hangover from last night's heavy drinking leaves your head spinning as you get up. You feel awful, even a little nauseous.]
[Fortunately, the other poor bastards who challenged you to a drinking contest aren't faring much better. The twin-tailed girl has passed out cold on the sofa — her round face flushed a soft crimson from the alcohol. Sunlight pours through the window, brushing her cheeks with a golden hue. A beautiful sight to behold.]
[Yet, as you take in this picturesque scene, a chill runs down your spine. You remember just how terrifying that girl's drinking prowess was last night — her stubbornness and sheer madness, refusing to stop until you both collapsed.]
[Thanks to the nanobots in your body, you recover from the hangover much faster.]
[Seeing the girl sleeping so soundly, you feel the urge to pinch her cheek — but to avoid having a gun pointed at your head the next second, you wisely resist.]
[Outside, the morning sun is bright — a fresh new day. The previous night's party has left the second floor a total mess, so you set the cleaning drones to work.]
[Aside from the twin-tailed girl, several other guests also stayed the night, each sprawled out comfortably in their own sleeping positions.]
[You don't wake anyone. Quietly, you leave.]
[You and David head to class together.]
[...]
[After class in the evening, you plan to stop by the studio building. Since there's nothing else on your schedule today, you might as well see how the studio's first day of operation is going — maybe something interesting is happening.]
[With that thought, you and David head toward the studio.]
[Until, without warning, disaster strikes.]
[Halfway there, your holo rings unexpectedly. You're surprised — it's Trauma Team calling.]
[A bad feeling rises in your chest. When you answer, a heavy voice on the other end informs you that, according to the Family Emergency Response protocol, your sister, while traveling by AV (aerocar) in the evening, was attacked by an unknown armed group. The AV crashed from high altitude. Although, per the Platinum membership contract, Trauma Team arrived as fast as possible, they were unable to save Ms. Xu Wanxue.]
[Tragedy hits without warning. The Caliburn suddenly swerves out of control, veering across the road. Thankfully, the autopilot kicks in before your daze causes an accident.]
[Tears fall. Even with your excellent Composure attribute, which lets you face most things calmly, the tears flow instinctively.]
[You are not at fault. When someone dear to you dies, crying is an instinct deep in human blood — no reason can suppress it.]
[Seeing you suddenly in tears, David is shocked. He hurriedly asks what happened.]
[You don't answer. Your eyes stare blankly at the road ahead as you silently change the Caliburn's navigation destination.]
[...]
[When you arrive at the crash site, you find your sister's close friend already there. The usually lively implant specialist is now grim and silent. Seeing you, she only offers a few quiet words of comfort.]
[You ask what happened.]
[According to Liu Ruoying's account, you learn the following clues:]
[1. There's a mole in the company — the AV was sabotaged, causing it to fall from the sky.]
[2. The AV didn't explode immediately upon impact. A group arrived ahead of time and finished the job, completely destroying the vehicle.]
[3. The mastermind is still unknown, but she suspects it was the work of a rival corporation. Xu Wanxue's death will delay Zetatech's new product release — and the ones who profit will be other cyberware companies.]
[4. By Night City's standards, even if the killers are found, the real mastermind will never show their face. Incidents like this are common in corporate warfare. Even Kang-Tao has pulled similar stunts. It's always the pawns who pay the price.]
[After learning this, you frantically search for more clues, using every method you can think of to find the truth behind it all.]
[But within a single day, you find nothing useful. You stay up all night, but by the time the clock strikes midnight, all you can do is sit there in bitter frustration.]

Cheerful singing still echoes across the second floor — though the singer clearly wasn't meant for the stage. Maybe they'd have better luck as a comedian. Their tone-deaf voice sounds like a butcher's knife scraping against a whetstone, or livestock screaming in terror.
Combined with Pilar's unintentionally hilarious "dancing," the entire floor is filled with laughter.
Except for Lin Mo, lying silently on the sofa.
Wordlessly, he sets the simulator back into the glass cabinet, sits up slowly, and dials a number.
On the other end, a woman's soft, warm voice answers, tinged with a bit of surprise:
"Well, well — what's gotten into my little troublemaker, calling your big sister all on your own? Don't tell me you're asking for more allowance again?"
Hearing that familiar, comforting tone, a small smile tugs at Lin Mo's lips despite the shadow in his heart. For a brief moment, it feels like sunlight piercing through storm clouds.
But then his expression hardens. His voice turns grave:
"Sis, I need you to listen carefully. What I'm about to say is extremely important… maybe even more important than my own life."
"Hm?"
Xu Wanxue pauses, startled by the seriousness in his tone. The teasing in her voice disappears.
"What's going on?"
"Tomorrow evening — you're planning to head home, right?"
"How did you know that? I was going to surprise you once I got there," she says, confused.
"Don't worry about how I know. Just remember what I'm saying right now — tomorrow, you must not leave the company. Don't step outside, not even for a moment. Stay put in your office, no matter what. Promise me that."
Lin Mo's voice is cold, commanding — he's never spoken to his sister like this before.
There's a long silence on the line. Then, in a calm, gentle voice, Xu Wanxue asks:
"Can you tell me what's going on?"
"If you do exactly what I say, I'll tell you everything afterward. Just… don't leave the company tomorrow."
"Alright. I'll do as you say," she agrees without hesitation.
"If you can, eat, sleep, and even use the bathroom in your office. Also… can you help me out by calling in a favor? I want to visit your company tomorrow."
"…You're not just trying to skip class, are you?" she says suspiciously.
"If going to class could solve everything, then maybe I'd be a good kid — not the troublesome little brother who gives you headaches."
Lin Mo smiles faintly.
"It's just… sometimes, things don't go the way we want them to."
