There was tension in the air.
Naturally, Yvonne had perceived the reproach in his tone of voice, but she was not in the mood for a quarrel, so she chose to remain silent.
Her reaction intensified Zachary's annoyance.
The two of them were quiet throughout the trip back to Lord Villa. Yvonne didn't utter a word during the ride, and neither did Zachary. Finally, they got back home. After getting out of the car and shutting the car door, Yvonne promptly returned to the house, bathed as quick as she could and then pretended to be asleep.
Zachary restrained his anger until she finished her bath.
But as he saw her lie down on the bed and close her eyes, refusing to communicate with him, Zachary shut the door behind him and his face darkened.
Before Yvonne could react, she felt something bulky weighing her down.
"Get off me!"
"Look at me,"
Zachary said in a faintly imperative tone.
Yvonne bit her lip, feeling rather upset.
