After reviewing the script the day before, the long-awaited filming day finally arrived.
Everyone was excited. They put on their costumes and took official photos. As the female lead, Lin Mei wore a delicate orange dress that softly accentuated her curves. From afar, a jealous gaze could be felt clearly—there was no need to guess who it belonged to. Huaze Lei's possessiveness was, as always, impossible to hide.
After the photoshoot, filming officially began.
The first scene showed Lin Mei's character catching the scumbag and the mistress in bed. The scene was completed in a single take. Next came the scene where she met the male lead, Mo Yesi. Although slightly nervous, Lin Mei passed the scene on her first try.
However, one thing was certain—she sincerely hoped she would have fewer scenes with him.
Mo Yesi was intimidating.
Even though Huaze Lei said they were friends, Lin Mei still felt that her husband was far more charismatic. What she didn't know was that Huaze Lei could be just as cold and distant as Mo Yesi when dealing with people he didn't care about. She was simply one of the rare exceptions—someone permanently placed on his good side.
Of course, Huaze Lei would never say such things out loud.
Sooner or later, she would figure it out on her own.
As filming progressed, Lin Mei's perception of Mo Yesi gradually changed. She began to notice just how skilled an actor he was. She carefully observed his movements and learned to follow his rhythm during their scenes. Already a talented actress, Lin Mei elevated her performance even further—not only through her interactions with Mo Yesi, but also thanks to guidance from experienced veterans such as Qiao Chen, Shen Rou, and others.
The first day of filming wrapped up smoothly.
Everything pointed to Revenge Desire becoming a success.
On the second day of filming, Huaze Lei stayed at the hotel to work—or at least, that was what he told Lin Mei. What she didn't know was that he had been urgently summoned to the company, which was why Xiao Wei picked him up in his private jet. He left with his assistant and, at noon, sent her a message:
"I won't be able to have lunch with you. I'll have your meal delivered."
That was when Lin Mei began to feel uneasy.
She suddenly remembered Feng Zhen, and without realizing it, a sense of danger crept into her heart.
Meanwhile, Huaze Lei was completely unaware of this, fully engaged in an important meeting at the company. At 3:00 p.m., he landed back in the city and went straight to the filming set. It was then that he noticed something strange—Lin Mei was looking at him differently.
Even Director Huaze Lian noticed and called her out. On set, personal relationships didn't matter. If someone made a mistake, they were reprimanded accordingly. After being corrected, Lin Mei quickly refocused. With one more take, she nailed the scene. The following scenes were filmed smoothly, one after another.
Still, Huaze Lei couldn't shake the feeling that something was off with his wife.
When he finally found a chance, he asked his sister:
"You're back?"
"Yes. What's wrong with your sister-in-law?"
"What do you mean?"
"Her behavior."
"Oh… that. Ever since you left, she's seemed a bit nervous. I think she might be jealous."
Huaze Lei paused, then came to the same conclusion.
In the end, a wicked, satisfied smile slowly spread across his face.
