Solenne listened to Selior with a heavy heart. She wasn't sure how this would lead to her being cursed, but she waited patiently for the rest of his explanation.
Selior continued solemnly, "I stabbed him the night before I had divined him to go berserk. I used the power of the Moon Goddess to place a curse on him and chain him to that godsforsaken mountain."
"When I did… I lost my ability to speak in exchange. From then on, I became a cursed speaker, where each word carried the weight of gods far beyond the power I should possess—even hurting those I cared for. Although the vast majority of the destruction of our Kingdom back then was due to Ruvan's violence… some of it was because of me, too.
