I didn't know how the news about getting shot at got out of Ivory City but it was the talk of the town here in Seattle. Levi said it must have been an issue job somehow. He urged me not to think too much about it but I couldn't help myself. I mean, he was fighting for his life and someone else thought it was best to make news out of his pain. Our pain.
I had tried to peel the truth about his nature in that city, but Levi was as hard as a rock, even as fragile as he was. He didn't budge. "I don't want to make any further assumptions. I know you. You will keep thinking about it. My team would do something in finding the truth. You don't have to worry."
I was worried.
