"Who made you cry?!" His voice was low and spiked with ice. "I could come to you."
"No?!" I yelled before I could stop myself. "It's okay, if we speak on the phone." I could hear his breathing from the other end. Anger.
I didn't know Levi, he was a fucking stranger, and yet, the little acts of presence wasn't enough to know what he was capable of. I was already burned once by one man, I wasn't ready to add another to the mix.
"You are not okay, I can hear you crying." He paused. "Did anyone touch you?' yes.
"No. I am…just feeling the weight of everything. You said to call if I need anything."
I heard him sigh. "Why do I think that's a lie?" His voice softened. "What do you need?" He asked. I reached my brain, sifting through all the memories and wants that I had harbored for years. The silence I had conformed to that had made me a puppet even in places that I was supposed to have freedom.
