Mrs. Lynch was indignant.
"You are all in this together," she spat.
"Mrs. Lynch, could you stop it? You come to the police station every day to cause trouble, and now you're taking an infant with you to the rooftop. What in the world are you doing?" Even the police officer was losing his patience.
He detested stubborn people like her who would risk the life of a child. Shocked, tears welled up in Mrs. Lynch's eyes. "How could you shout at me?"
She thought they would patiently persuade her not to jump off the building, but they scolded her instead.
The police officer felt helpless and was silent for a while before saying, "Put the child down first, Mrs. Lynch. You must resolve matters with Mrs. Yancey on your own. Please don't involve the child, okay?"
The child had been crying her heart out.
"No! Don't you dare take my granddaughter away from me."
