Once the couple arrived at the Yancey residence, Iris pulled Zoey aside immediately, asking her to talk to Yvonne upstairs.
"Mom, what's going on with Yvonne?" Zoey asked, puzzled.
"I have no idea." Iris shook her head. "She came back this afternoon. Although she was talking and laughing away with us, we could tell she was hiding something behind her smile. She refused to talk about it, so we didn't want to press on. You are her best friend and sister-in-law, so it may be easier for her to open up to you."
Zoey nodded after hearing that. "Okay. Let me go check on her now."
"Go," Iris replied.
"Mommy!"
As soon as Zoey reached upstairs, the twins came running from the opposite direction and hugged her thigh gently.
