The next day, Zoey saw Yvonne came downstairs with swollen red eyes. She frowned and walked up to her.
"Yvonne, did you cry last night?" she asked in a worried tone.
"No, I didn't. Something stung my eyes in the middle of the night, and I woke up with swollen eyes." Yvonne stubbornly refused to admit it. "A strong and independent woman like me will not shed a tear easily."
Zoey patted the back of Yvonne's head playfully and changed the topic. "Yesterday,
I forgot to tell you that Leo arranged over twenty of his best bodyguards to protect
Shawn. I am confident that he'll return safely."
Yvonne's eyes instantly lit up, and she glanced at Leo, who was sitting on the couch. She yelled, "Thank you, Leo. After Shawn returns, the two of us will treat you and Zoey to a meal."
Leo didn't know what to say.
"Godmother, what happened to your eyes?"
