"Snowy, shut her up. She's making too much noise," Kayden commanded as he knitted his brows.
Snowy replied with a bark before it scuttled toward Darcy Campbell.
"Ah!" Darcy Campbell cried in fear when Snowy pushed against her back. "Save me, Mom!" she screamed with all her might.
With her blood running cold, she shrieked at the top of her lungs, "Mom!"
"Shoo! Shoo! Get away from my daughter!" The sight of Darcy Campbell's petrified expression fueled Grace's bravery. She waved her hand, trying to scare Snowy away. "If-if you come any closer, I'm hitting you with a broom!"
One bark after another, Grace's heart started hammering uncontrollably.
Breaking out in cold sweat, her chest tightened with every bark.
