Kayla reached out and held onto her great-grandfather's hand.
"What's the matter, Kayla? Do you want me to carry you?" Old Mr. Yancey asked as he bent over to pick Kayla up into his arms.
However, Kayla took a step back and shook her head. She didn't want to be carried.
Old Mr. Yancey stroked her head gently and was puzzled, "Why do you look so serious, Kayla? Did someone bully you?" He turned grim at the possibility that a butler might have bullied Kayla without anyone knowing. After all, Kayla was new to their home and was still very young. It would be too easy to bully a child. But if that was true, he wouldn't hesitate to fire them. This was a betrayal in the Yancey family, and would not be tolerated.
