I didn't hesitate. I moved fast, hunting down every last person involved. Richard, Bella's own father, Sylvia, and every accomplice who thought they could tear us apart without consequence.
But even in my wrath, there was a line I refused to cross.
They weren't just enemies to be destroyed. They were human. Flawed, yes, but still human.
I was ruthless, yes, but not without mercy.
Richard's betrayal cut deep, but I couldn't allow hatred to consume me. So instead of worse, I ensured they were brought to justice the right way, and sentenced to prison. Enough to pay for what they'd done, enough to make an example, but not to destroy them utterly.
Sylvia was cunning and cruel, but I gave him the sentence he deserved, no chance of escape, no leniency beyond what was required by law.
I wanted them all to understand that their choices had consequences, and that they would never be allowed to threaten Bella or me again.
