Mado and Koutarou soon arrived at an open space enclosed by a barbed wire fence. Inside the space, several scrapped cars were parked, along with a very rudimentary tin shed that gave the impression of a criminal hideout.
Mado immediately leaped over the barbed wire fence with agile movements, and Koutarou followed suit.
"This is it! I can sense it!" Mado muttered excitedly.
As soon as he spoke, a man in a white lab coat burst out of the tin shed, crashing through the tin walls, and fell in front of Mado and Koutarou.
However, Mado ignored the injured man in the lab coat lying on the ground and instead looked at the large hole the man had created.
A burly man in a cream-colored suit emerged from the tin shed, hands in his pockets, standing there as if nothing had happened, as if he hadn't seen Mado and Koutarou.
This suit-wearing man had dead, fish-like eyes, which were very small. His nose was large, and he had no eyebrows. His face was square-shaped, giving him the appearance of a hardened criminal.
"Jason! A big shot from District 13 showing up in Zone 20! There must be something fun going on here!" Mado said, looking at the suited man called Jason.
This Jason was actually Yamori. Jason wasn't his real name; like Yamori, it was just another nickname.
As he spoke, Mado pressed a button on the handle of his briefcase. The briefcase then disassembled like an armor shell, its two halves separating completely, leaving only the handle.
The handle seemed to be connected to a storage device, and attached to that device was a mass of green flesh. After the briefcase disassembled, this mass of flesh transformed into a long, pointed spike-like weapon, resembling a long sword.
In fact, the White Wings' briefcases should be called Quinque cases, and the weapons used by White Wings are Quinque.
The essence of Quinque is actually {Ghoul} Kagune, or rather, Quinque are weapons made from {Ghoul} Kagune sacs.
The storage device on the handle contains {Ghoul} Kagune sacs. Therefore, the form of the Quinque depends on the type of Kagune sac and its inherent form.
Since the Kagune sac has lost its original host, it has no consciousness and is not controlled by the White Wing. Therefore, to control the Kagune sac that has transformed into a Quinque into a combat form, it is usually stimulated by bio-electricity.
When the button on the briefcase handle is pressed, not only does the briefcase disassemble, but it also releases bio-electricity. This bio-electricity can simulate nerve signals, transmitting them to the Kagune sac in the storage device, allowing the Kagune sac to enter a combat form.
"Jason! An S-class {Ghoul} from District 13!" Koutarou's entire body tensed up upon hearing Mado's words. At the same time, he pressed the button on his own handle.
However, Koutarou's Quinque was not connected to the handle. After Koutarou pressed the button on his handle, his briefcase did not disassemble automatically, but a long, round tube popped out from the side of the briefcase.
Koutarou immediately gripped the round tube with his left hand, and then the briefcase began to disassemble.
At one end of the long round tube, there was a cylindrical storage device thicker than the tube. Attached around this storage device was a mass of dark red flesh.
