"Um, big brother, are you human or a {Ghoul}? I can sense the scent of a human from you!" Hinami continued to ask.
Hearing this, Kaneki Ken couldn't help but look at Ryuji. If Hinami could sense his difference, and Ryuji, like himself, was once human, then Hinami should have been able to sense something different about Ryuji too.

Hearing this, Mrs. Ryoko was very surprised. She hadn't expected Ryuji to ask her about this, which was even more astonishing than if he had confessed his love to her.
"What do you want to do?" Mrs. Ryoko retorted.
"Protect your husband!" Ryuji answered simply and directly.
"I hope you can keep this a secret for me. I don't want the manager and the others to know!" Ryuji added.
Mrs. Ryoko, however, didn't understand why Ryuji was doing this, as their family didn't have much of a relationship with Ryuji.
