Kyōjurō found Zenitsu's words unbelievable. She didn't believe such a powerful demon slayer as Ryuji would protect a demon girl.
Zenitsu's words, however, reminded Shinichi Murata of rumors he'd heard at the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters. He spoke up, "What Zenitsu said could be true. Shortly after returning from Spider Mountain, I heard rumors that Senpai Ryuji fought fiercely with the Wind Hashira to protect a demon girl."
Murata's words didn't cause Kyōjurō to lower her sword.
The Zangetsu Squad didn't know about Nezuko. Upon waking and seeing Nezuko, Kyōjurō assumed she was a malevolent demon and immediately drew her sword, only to be stopped by Zenitsu.
A tense standoff ensued. Others gradually woke up, but unlike Kyōjurō, they didn't attack Nezuko, though they remained wary.
This was the scene Ryuji encountered.
"Kyōjurō, put your sword down! None of you are to harm Nezuko! Otherwise, I'll kill you first!" Ryuji commanded, his tone firm and unwavering.
Kyōjurō's eyes widened in disbelief at Ryuji's words.
Seeing Ryuji's determination and the faint killing intent in his eyes, Kyōjurō sheathed her Nichirin Blade, glaring angrily at Ryuji.
Ryuji's actions confirmed the rumors' truth for Murata.
After Kyōjurō sheathed her blade, Ryuji's expression softened. He formally addressed the Zangetsu Squad, "I'm making a formal announcement to your squad. Nezuko, though a demon, has never eaten humans and never will. Therefore, none of you are to harm her. Disobey, and you will be killed!"
