Lower Rank One had intended to cause a catastrophic train wreck to take everyone with him in death, but ironically, his cells' survival response protected the passengers.

Perhaps the ultimate irony of his death.

Immediately after the train stopped, Inosuke leaped out of the combustion chamber and searched for Tanjiro near the tracks.

Under the illumination from the lights of other carriages, Inosuke quickly spotted Tanjiro lying ten meters from the tracks.

"Tanjiro!" Inosuke shouted, rushing to his side and carefully lifting him up.

"Are you okay? Snap out of it!" Inosuke anxiously asked, slapping Tanjiro's face.

Tanjiro was disoriented and lightheaded. He weakly asked, "Inosuke, are you alright?"

"I'm perfectly fine! No cold either!!" Inosuke replied earnestly.

"Tanjiro, your stomach's bleeding! It looks serious!" Inosuke pointed out.

"I'm fine, Inosuke! I can't move right now. Go save the others first. And that fireman I knocked out—how is he? Is he okay?" Tanjiro, unconcerned about his own injuries, prioritized saving others.

"Why do you care about that bad guy?! That jerk probably died," Inosuke didn't understand why Tanjiro would care for someone who had hurt him.

"Please, Inosuke! He was manipulated by the demon! He's a victim too!" Tanjiro pleaded.

Seeing Tanjiro's insistence, Inosuke reluctantly put Tanjiro down. "Fine, I'll reluctantly check on him, since you asked."

During the derailment, Inosuke hadn't paid attention to the fireman. Considering he was unconscious, he might have been thrown from the train and killed.

Even if he wasn't dead, he was certainly injured.

Inosuke searched the area and found the fireman pinned under a carriage. The pain had apparently roused him from unconsciousness, and he was groaning in agony.

Seeing Inosuke approach, the fireman became frightened, yelling, "Stay back! Stay back!"

He feared retribution. Inosuke, unsurprisingly, wasn't inclined to be kind. Seeing himself being pushed away, Inosuke abandoned the idea of helping Tanjiro.

"Hmph~ Then just wait to die!" Inosuke said with displeasure, turning to leave.

The fireman, realizing Inosuke wasn't there for revenge, called out, "Don't go! Don't go! Help me! Save me!"

"Why should I save a bad guy?" Inosuke replied indifferently.

"I'm sorry! I shouldn't have been manipulated by that monster! Please save me! Give me another chance! I'll be a good person!" the fireman begged.

Inosuke didn't immediately respond, but he wasn't unwilling to help. He'd promised Tanjiro, and he would keep his word.

However, he couldn't lift the carriage alone. He decided to check on the other team members first and then find a way to rescue the fireman.

"Hey, don't go! Please! Waaah!" The fireman cried, remorseful tears streaming down his face.
