Before long, a specially painted van arrived outside the sewer entrance.
Amon Koutarou and Satou Kaede had already moved Mado's body to the entrance. Due to the heavy rain outside, Amon Koutarou and Satou Kaede had to wait in the sewer.
Several staff members in raincoats alighted from the van. Upon approaching Amon Koutarou and Satou Kaede, they performed a standard CCG salute.
Amon Koutarou and Satou Kaede returned the salute. The staff did not ask many questions but proceeded to load Mado's body into the van. They were accustomed to such matters.
Afterward, Amon Koutarou and Satou Kaede also got into the van, which quickly drove away from the place filled with sorrow.
This battle had resulted in heavy losses for Amon Koutarou's side. Not only had Mado sacrificed himself, but all their quinque were completely destroyed.
Therefore, it was highly likely that Amon Koutarou and Satou Kaede would face disciplinary action from their superiors.
Subsequently, Amon Koutarou and Satou Kaede ceased their activities in Ward 20. This was partly due to the loss of their quinque, partly due to suspension, partly because Satou Kaede's arm required time to heal, and partly because of a large-scale {Ghoul} riot in another ward. The remaining reason was to handle Mado's funeral arrangements.
All these complex reasons converged, allowing Ward 20 to return to a state of stability and relative peace.
