Chapter 146: A Being from the Heavens? Tenseigan Chakra Mode!
The energy in the sky trembled in secret.
Far above, on the moon, the three members of the Ōtsutsuki clan stared blankly as the massive Tenseigan erupted once more.
The great eye had finally been dormant for a while, giving them a brief moment of peace.
But now that fragile calm was shattered again—and this time, the massive Tenseigan was even more out of control.
"He's returned… and his control over the eye has become even stronger?"
The Great Elder sighed. With each appearance, the intruder seemed to wrest more control over the Tenseigan—even they, as its caretakers, were starting to feel overwhelmed.
"Can we identify him somehow?" the Third Elder asked, barely able to contain his anxiety. "If we locate him, is there anything we can do?"
"It's difficult," said the Second Elder, shaking his head. "His control over the Tenseigan grows with every use. If we try to interfere now, it could backfire terribly."
"This isn't about cowardice," he added firmly. "It's simply the reality of our situation. Besides… have any of you stopped to consider who this person actually is?"
"What do you mean?" the Great Elder paused, then suddenly his pale eyes widened in realization.
"You're suggesting… he might not be from the Shinobi World?"
"Not from the Shinobi World? Then… where?" the Third Elder was stunned, his expression turning grave.
The archives on the moon were far more extensive than anything in the ninja world—especially since their own civil war had been fought between powerful branches of the same bloodline. Much of that history had been carefully preserved.
While many things remained unclear, there were vague records—hints—about a different clan, one said to have descended from the heavens.
"Let's not get carried away," the Great Elder interrupted sharply, regaining composure. "It could just be someone from the Hyūga clan. Maybe, during the time of the Great Conflict, some coward from the main branch secretly fled to the Shinobi World."
He inhaled deeply and spoke coldly. "Speculation gets us nowhere. Our priority is still the training of Toneri. As for the rest…"
"Hmph. If this intruder crosses the line, we'll respond accordingly. But never forget—"
"Those from the heavens are the ones who truly wish to destroy the Shinobi World!"
---
"Again…?"
At Mount Myōboku, Great Toad Sage Gamamaru's ancient eyes snapped open.
Though months passed like fleeting moments for him, he had never let his guard down. Ever since sensing the mysterious energy, he had been meditating, probing the source—and trying to use his powers of prophecy to peer into the future.
But no matter how hard he tried, he saw nothing. His visions had been completely blocked.
The future remained unchanged. The dreams showed no new paths. Which only confirmed to him that something—or someone—had deliberately severed his foresight.
"What a terrifying technique… And this time, the energy feels even stronger than before."
Gamamaru muttered aloud. His sensitivity to chakra was second to none, and what he felt now filled him with dread.
"We must find him soon… This can't go on. But what is his goal?"
What puzzled him most was that despite all this power and mystery, the being hadn't actually done much—at least, not on the surface.
This… didn't align with typical Ōtsutsuki behavior.
"Has he sensed something? Or… is he preparing for something else entirely?"
Gamamaru didn't know. But he knew one thing: he couldn't afford to relax.
The memories of the Calamity War from a thousand years ago were still vivid in his mind. And now, for the first time in centuries, he was considering something serious.
"I remember little Jiraiya once mentioned a boy with extraordinary talent… but he didn't like toads."
That boy—someone Jiraiya had called the one who could change destiny. If Jiraiya believed in him, then Gamamaru had to take it seriously.
Unfortunately, the boy refused to sign a summoning contract—he didn't like toads, and refused to associate with them. That made things much harder.
"Still, Jiraiya should guide him. A genius who awakened Sage Mode on his own…"
"Maybe… just maybe… he can become a force to tip the scales."
---
"Did you feel that, Blacky?"
In the Land of Rain, White Zetsu had just finished checking on Nagato's condition when he suddenly sensed something strange.
He turned to Black Zetsu and asked quietly.
But Black Zetsu was already staring into the sky, eyes narrowed.
"…I felt it. Don't speak."
His sensory abilities far exceeded White Zetsu's. He had already noticed that chakra signature—hidden high above in the sky, imperceptible to ordinary beings.
And that chakra was all too familiar.
Ōtsutsuki Genshiki—he had used that chakra many times before.
"He's appeared again… but why? What does he want this time?"
Black Zetsu couldn't figure it out. But his instincts screamed that this presence was dangerous—far more than before.
"What could he have encountered… to trigger a chakra surge this powerful?"
Black Zetsu sighed.
This world was becoming increasingly alien to him.
"Forget it. No point dwelling on it—we can't do anything right now. What's Nagato's condition?"
"…"
"Hey? Why aren't you answering?"
"You told me not to talk."
"…"
For a moment, Black Zetsu genuinely considered dissecting White Zetsu's brain—just to see if it was entirely filled with crap.
How did he always manage to drive him to such despair?
He was starting to think he was surrounded by idiots.
"Relax, relax. Don't get mad," White Zetsu said with a carefree smile. "Nagato's stable now."
"Though he lost one arm and one leg, his vitality is incredible. He's already stabilized—he just can't regenerate those limbs."
"Not surprising. His bloodline is powerful."
Black Zetsu nodded. Nagato's lineage wasn't just Uzumaki—it bordered on Senju.
After all, those two clans were closely related. His potential was immense.
"What about Itachi and Kisame?"
"They're recovering. Kisame's fine—as long as he has chakra, he'll survive. But Itachi…"
"He's in bad shape? Makes sense. His body was already deteriorating. After the last battle, he suffered severe injuries, and his ocular power was nearly depleted."
"Exactly. And with no skilled medical ninja around, I've been keeping him alive with my chakra alone."
"There's no other option?"
"None that I know of. Honestly, I doubt they'll be any match for Ōtsutsuki Genshiki… or Kitagawa Gen for that matter."
"Yeah… it's a serious problem."
Black Zetsu massaged his temples. His frustration was reaching new heights.
The Akatsuki had been struck hard.
Ōtsutsuki Genshiki had crippled two of their strongest.
And Kitagawa Gen? He nearly killed Nagato.
At this rate, they could forget about gathering the Tailed Beasts—hell, they might not even survive until the next Chūnin Exams!
"Maybe… I need to consider more drastic measures. Things are getting out of hand."
He gritted his teeth.
If he didn't act soon, everything he had built would collapse—and he'd never fulfill his true mission.
"If I go that far… I need to be ready. I can't afford to lose control of the very monster I create…"
---
"That feeling again…"
Kitagawa Gen had no idea that his current transformation had alarmed three different factions. Each of them was terrified.
At this moment, he stood bathed in invisible chakra—the energy radiating from the Giant Tenseigan on the moon.
The moment he absorbed the Tenseigan's Yin Release, he felt his blood surge and boil.
It thrilled him.
Although the process was brief, it had an intense impact. When it ended, he felt the Tenseigan's power explode within him.
"Just like when I first awakened the Tenseigan… it was instantly drawn to me. But this time…"
His chakra absorption had reached a standstill—as though something massive was brewing deep inside him.
The Tenseigan's chakra was fueling the final stage of his transformation—helping him break through a second time.
"Is this… my second awakening?"
Kitagawa Gen could feel it. He was close—and he was eager to see what awaited him on the other side.
"The first awakening granted me incredible power. But what will I gain from this second one?"
He had long suspected that his eyes were a fusion of multiple bloodlines.
In other words, he could draw from all sorts of abilities—not just the core Rinnegan-like powers, but traces of Ōtsutsuki abilities as well.
"Most importantly… I've unlocked the Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion!"
He had already tested it once—and its power was terrifying.
But this technique only manifested in Tenseigan Chakra Mode, which made him curious.
"If I use Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion in Tenseigan Chakra Mode… what would it look like? And what about Golden Wheel?"
Normally, this chakra would only appear after the Tenseigan's third evolution.
"But it feels like I…"
He raised his head, gazing into the distance.
Even under the bright daylight, he felt as though he could still lock onto the moon.
As the chakra surged and cryptic messages echoed in his mind—
A smile crept onto his face.
At the same moment, the invisible chakra in the skies came to a sudden halt.
"This… definitely isn't a normal evolution path."
His eyes had completed their transformation—ready to unleash their true might.
Buzz—
In the next instant, his eyes turned into dazzling azure streams of light.
A wave of terrifying pressure burst outward, slicing down the trees around him in an instant!
And right then, a translucent interface appeared before his eyes:
