Although Regulus Black was quite certain that Naomi Watts would join the Black family, he still felt it necessary to ask.
"Naomi! You just dozed off for a bit. Judging by your expression, you must have been dreaming."
Regulus Black set Sarah Maidani aside and took Naomi's hand, asking her gently.
Through physical contact, Regulus could sense her condition clearly via his magical power. Emotional reactions, though mental in nature, often manifest physiologically.
At the moment, Naomi Watts' response to Regulus was... intense emotion and impulsive desire.
It seemed there was no need to ask indirectly. The situation made that completely unnecessary.
"I dreamt that I spent eight lonely years in America. You weren't there, and I struggled just to survive."
Naomi recalled those eight years of perseverance, which seemed to pale in comparison to what she gained by simply spreading her legs. The sorrow welled up inside her.
Tears streamed uncontrollably down Naomi's face, though she appeared completely lost as to why she was crying.
"That was only a dream, Naomi! Just a dream. Maybe it was prophetic—without me, those eight years might have been your reality. But now that you've met me, your next eight years will be completely different."
Regulus Black wiped away her tears with his finger. A beautiful woman crying was always touching.
But even more alluring was the shy expression that followed when someone wiped her tears.
"Regulus, meeting you was the luckiest thing that's ever happened to me. Please... don't leave me, okay?"
Naomi Watts pleaded softly, as if afraid he might abandon her at any moment.
With actresses, it was truly hard to tell when they were acting. Or perhaps women in general blurred the line between life and performance.
"You're not afraid that Sarah and I are wizards?"
Regulus needed to clarify a few things.
"I was surprised at first, but I've come to accept it. When you think about it, being a wizard isn't so bad—there are plenty of superheroes in comic books!"
Naomi tilted her head playfully, making it clear that she could accept all of this. Wizards weren't bad—and if they were superheroes, all the better. Under the dual effects of the love potion and the Pensieve, she had managed to rationalize it all to herself.
But seriously—you're 25 and acting this cutesy?
Regulus preferred her mature, seductive side. And that side, she revealed only to him.
"So, are you willing to be my woman? I don't mean marry me—just become my woman. I know it's a bold request, but the benefits of being mine are quite generous."
For most women, Regulus Black's proposition would have been outrageous—maybe even dangerous. But to Naomi, it was no different from a marriage proposal. Even if she couldn't become his wife, being his woman was no issue at all.
Honestly, who else in the world could Naomi Watts possibly love? Obviously, it was this man before her.
"I accept! I accept! I accept! No matter what, as long as I can stay by your side, I don't care what my status is."
As she thought back to the hardships of those eight years, Naomi agreed to Regulus' terms—and burst into tears once more.
Regulus Black was never stingy with his women.
A full set of crimson ruby jewelry had become the standard dowry. Additional perks would be arranged depending on the individual, since not everyone had insatiable desires.
Desire might be endless, but there's only so much you can manage. That's why doing what you love in your lifetime is true happiness.
As for the actresses Regulus favored during filming, their greatest desire was simple: to become stars.
But becoming famous required more than just making a movie—it required all kinds of support.
And, of course, the most basic need was money. Only when one's basic needs are met can they afford to pursue their passions.
Once Naomi put on the ring, a contract with the Black family was officially formed, and her final chance to leave vanished.
Not that she ever intended to leave Regulus Black. Not in this lifetime.
"Phew... We're finally family. Now I can relax a little around Naomi."
Sarah Maidaney couldn't help but feel much more at ease. If Naomi hadn't become part of the Black family, then even if her memories were later erased, Sarah would still have had to be careful not to reveal her magical abilities in front of her.
But now, Sarah Maidaney could use spells freely and without restraint.
"You'd better watch yourself. Naomi is someone I had my eye on from the start. If it were anyone else, things wouldn't have been handled this way."
Regulus Black found the golden-eyed girl's relaxed attitude a bit of a headache. He reached out and flicked her forehead, hard enough that she winced and curled up, clutching her head.
There was another issue—now that the golden-eyed girl had been given magical abilities, should Naomi be granted the same?
Even a full set of crimson ruby jewelry had been gifted to her by the boxful—adding a few enchantments didn't seem like a stretch.
But just as the thought crossed Regulus Black's mind, he dismissed it himself.
Naomi Watts was an ordinary Muggle. She wasn't even a Squib. Trying to give her the ability to control and use magic would only make things worse. Losing control would be the best-case scenario.
Under normal circumstances, young witches and wizards were forbidden from using magic before the age of ten. Doing so would make it harder for them to control their power, and if their magic spiraled out of control, there was a significant chance they'd turn into Squibs—essentially destroying their future.
Even pure-blood wizard children struggled with this. For a Muggle, it was all but impossible.
Naomi Watts was genuinely interested in magic and spells, though she knew better than to say it aloud. Still, the longing in her eyes was unmistakable, and even Regulus couldn't ignore it.
"Naomi, listen to me. First, you need to understand the difference between the wizarding world and the Muggle world. The former is born with magic, while the latter has none. Even Sarah is a half-blood witch, yet she's still a Squib—someone who has magic but can't actually use it."
Regulus Black's explanation made the golden-eyed girl visibly unhappy. She pouted, clutching her head and inching away on the sofa.
In the end, Regulus simply pulled her back and gave her a sharp smack on the bottom, which finally made her settle down.
"And you, Naomi, are what the wizarding world calls a Muggle—someone born entirely without magical power."
Naomi Watts looked confused, blinking as she tried to think of how to respond.
"So... I'm a Muggle, which means I have no magic and can't use spells. But Sarah is a half-blood witch, and you called her a Squib—so how can she use spells?"
Naomi slowly voiced the question in her heart. She didn't say anything wrong, and her meaning was clearly expressed.
"That's because the spells I use were all pre-enchanted by Regulus and embedded into the jewelry. I only have the right to use them—they weren't created by me."
Lying across Regulus Black's lap, the golden-eyed girl was being comforted like a cat, her back gently stroked. After answering Naomi's question, she began to doze off contentedly.
The fact that Regulus Black could treat Sarah like a pet fascinated Naomi.
Whether or not she could use spells wasn't actually that important to Naomi Watts. What mattered more was that, as Regulus Black's woman, she hoped to be treated equally.
It was clear to Naomi that Sarah Maidaney was Regulus Black's little pet. She had noticed it early on. At first, she had been a bit shocked by their relationship, but considering how "grooming" relationships were common—even preferable—in the entertainment world, she didn't think too much of it.
After all, Regulus Black even supervised Sarah Maidaney's studies. Naomi discovered that she couldn't understand a single one of the exercises they were working on. And yet, the storyline casually included scenes of doing homework—who knew how many viewers would be driven mad watching that?
