"Who says you don't have the fate of a wealthy madam? Only I get to decide whether my woman has that fate and I'm giving it to you right now." Gilbert Watson held her tightly. "I'm sorry I didn't come back last night, but I'll make it up to you now, twice over. Don't be angry with me, darling. I love you."
Lowering his head, he moved to kiss her.
Claire turned her face away.
His kiss landed on her neck, and then he began kissing along it inch by inch, his breathing growing increasingly rapid.
Claire struggled desperately.
But the man's powerful arms locked around her, holding her fast and leaving her no room to move.
Anger and humiliation surged within her. In the midst of her struggle, a wave of nausea rushed up from her stomach. Unable to hold it back, she vomited with a harsh retch all over the brand-new bedding.
"Claire, what's wrong with you?" Gilbert froze in shock, quickly releasing her as he asked anxiously.
