"Professor Bryant." Garrett Watson called out, his voice trembling with excitement.
"Mr. Watson." Chance Bryant gave him a polite nod and strode toward the operating room.
But when he passed Gilbert, he didn't spare him so much as a glance.
Gilbert stood there awkwardly, at a loss.
"Claire, wait outside for me. When the surgery is over, I'll deal with you then." At the doorway, Chance Bryant cast her a meaningful look before pushing the door open.
She glared back at him, then exhaled in relief.
"Claire, you know Chance Bryant?" Gilbert's eyes brimmed with suspicion.
Since when had this woman become acquainted with such a renowned doctor?
"Do I owe you an explanation?" Claire replied coolly.
Gilbert's brows arched sharply.
Just then, Amanda stepped forward, took Claire's hand warmly, and said, "Claire, thank you."
"Auntie, it was because of me that Grandma fainted. This is the least I could do," Claire answered humbly.
