After a moment, Derek lifted his lids. "If I tell you, will you really do it?"
Bonnie leaned in closer, her expression earnest and obedient. "Mm. Tell me."
"Marry me."
"…" Bonnie froze, fingers brushing her neck as she hesitated. "Anything else?"
The instant the words left her lips, he gave a cold laugh, as if he had expected it. He slumped to the side. "Liar."
Bonnie: "…"
Bonnie stared at the screen. The other side was already blank, the man gone from sight. She whispered his name, "Derek."
But Derek ignored her, never showing himself on camera.
"Derek?"
"…"
Drawing out her voice, she tried again. "Derek…"
"…"
"Derek, pleaseee"
And within seconds, he appeared again. His movements were sluggish, the clear sign of someone drunk. His skin was pale, lashes lowered, giving him an oddly obedient look.
Yet even though he returned, his displeasure was obvious.
