I wanted to take a moment to be open with you about the direction of the novel and why I'll be stepping away briefly. Since the beginning of 2025, I've been steadily writing and sharing chapters with you all. Along the way, I've grown a lot as a writer — but like most journeys, mine hasn't been without pauses, experiments, and moments of reflection.
Now that I've written several chapters and looked back at the story as a whole, I can see both strengths and weaknesses more clearly. The world, the characters, and the ideas excite me, but I also recognize that the structure of the narrative can be improved. Certain arcs could be paced better; character development deserves more breathing room; and foreshadowing for future events can be woven more seamlessly. To do that, I need to step back, look at the larger picture, and restructure parts of the story.
At the same time, my college midterms and semester exams are coming up. As you can imagine, preparing for them takes priority right now. Writing is something I'm passionate about, but my academics require my focus during this period. Rather than trying to juggle both poorly, I'd rather dedicate my time properly — first to my studies, and then, once exams are over, to delivering a much stronger continuation of the story.
This means updates will pause temporarily. I can't give an exact return date yet, but it will be after my midterms are completed, and I'll return with renewed focus and a clearer vision for where the narrative is heading.
Please don't take this hiatus as me giving up. Quite the opposite — this is me choosing to invest more into the story's quality and longevity. I don't just want to pump out chapters; I want to create a work that rewards your time, keeps you engaged, and builds into something you'll look back on proudly as readers.
