I refrained from calling Leonard even though he was staying longer than usual in the office. Maybe he was teasing, and baiting me to reach out to him so he would stick it out to my face, and brag that I had missed him all day.
Of course I had missed him but I was not going to tell him that or show him. I would just sit here, and wait for him. When he is tired of waiting for my call, he will come home.
The door pulled open a little while later, and even though I knew it wasn't Leonard, I turned towards the door, and hoped it was him. But it wasn't. Laurel walked in through the door, closely followed by Levi and Lennox.
"Is daddy back yet?" She asked in her tiny voice, and when I shook my head in response, she pouted.
"I tried to call him several times but he is not picking up," Laurel added sadly. I was beginning to get worried but I was trying hard to not show it.
"He's probably busy at the office," I said in a soothing voice even though I did not believe it myself.
