Chapter Forty-Two

Leonard left for the kitchen, laughing all the way. I laughed too. The thought of him making dinner amused me since I was sure he had no idea how to go about it. But it was nice to see him try, and even nicer that he hadn't asked that I prepare it.
I stretched lazily on the bed, my hands resting on my belly which was yet to show signs of a bulge. Despite the chaos of the evening which was centred on the news of my pregnancy going out, plus the unexpected turn my life was taking, I felt at peace. Maybe it was Leonard's laughter that lingered in the air or mine, or maybe I was too exhausted to feel anything else.
I thought of what to get busy with since I had no intention to help Leonard out in the kitchen, and my eyes caught the branded bags of R&C Grandeur. I had totally forgotten about the things I spent hours picking, and squealing at, all thanks to the celebrity chasers who had almost succeeded in ruining the evening.
