Ivy gave a diplomatic smile. By now, a row of questions had formed in her mind.
"So, will you go first, or should I begin?"
Moona and Maxi exchanged a hesitant glance before Maxi, acting like an older sister, looked at Ivy with an impassive gaze.
"We want to stay in the base."
"You can't." Ivy shook her head. Even if she was sympathetic to whatever experience Moona and Maxi might have gone through, she couldn't imagine taking in half zombies in her base.
So what if they are kind? In the future, if they completed their transformation into zombies or accidentally infected others in the base, she wouldn't know how to answer others.
Moona's and Maxi's expressions changed. Moona looked depressed, as if all the courage she had built till now was sucked out of her body, while Maxi stared at Ivy as if she was planning to fight till the end.
"Why? Can't you give us a chance before deciding for us?"
"I would have if it were in my hand," Ivy said in a calm voice.
