Silas began, but midway through his sentence, he paused before shaking his head, "I don't know much either, I just know you are in danger."
If he told Ivy how she might harm him, too, she would distance herself.
An even worse possibility flashed in his mind. What if Ivy knew this and hence was maintaining the distance?
She hasn't openly laid it out, so she could only discreetly try to avoid him, but once she did open up, won't she have a legitimate reason to avoid him?
Ivy subconsciously heaved a sigh of relief. For some reason, the sight of Silas avoiding her like a plague after knowing her jinx filled her with fear.
'Hypocrite. You are avoiding him because of the jinx, but can't bear to see him avoiding you. If you truly love him, tell him about the jinx and leave him. Maybe then he won't come near you.'
Ivy's feet and hands turned cold, but the voice in her mind was telling the truth. She lifted her head and looked at Silas as if she had made some kind of decision.
