They both looked at the door wondering who it was. Dylan sighed, he knew what was coming
" Listen to me little cat , don't try to lie in front of them they'll know. Just confess and say the truth." Dylan said
" What! " She still couldn't believe he was still telling her to confess
" Just trust me on this one. You can say it was Damian who gave you the necklace if they ask about it. Or if you like you can say it was me although they won't believe you." Dylan explained but he still wasn't making sense to her
" Princess Kathryn, are you in? " A voice came from the outside
" You're going to be fine little cat I'll never let anyone touch you. Or they'll see hell before their very eyes." His eyes turned icy as he said those words
Kathy nodded, she trusts him. Even though she could be the one to kill him which sounds impossible. But she was who she was no matter what anyone has to say about it, and she knows she'll never ever hurt him.
" I guess no time to wash up." He said
" But I smell like... like..." He pinched her cheeks
" That is the least of your problems now. Run along remember do not try to hide anything." He told her
Kathy got up she awkwardly wore her undies back and walked to the door, taking in a deep breath she looked back and saw that Dylan was no longer there. She compose herself and opened the door just then she felt as if she had forgotten to tell Dylan the most important thing she heard, then she remembered but it was too late
" Forgive me my princess but your presence is needed in the Court." The guard told her . She panicked, court?
" O..ok lead the way." She followed him out , she had never been this afraid in all her life. She even contemplating running away but she knew better
The guard led her to a big hall located on the west side of the palace. He opened the door announcing that the human princess was there on the orders of the king.
Kathy stepped into the hall, scamming the area. Everyone was there, her maids even Darla but that Lilith girl wasn't around. The king and his brother . Even the princes and princess.
They all looked at her with scorn. She ignored the piercing eyes of the officials and went to meet the king. She knelt down and bowed giving him the outmost respect
" Your majesty you requested to see me." She tried to feigned bravery looking up at the king.
" I heard something weird from one of my guards and a few witnesses. But because of the respect I had for you I decided to ask you myself." Phillip looked at her with suspicion
" Ask away my King." Kathy replied
" You were planning to run away?" He asked testing to see her reaction.
She didn't reply, then she heard a booming voice.
" Jamie." The king called and with that one word. Jamie being in charge of the kingdoms security faced her
" Your highness I had investigated this past few hours. Did you know a tyrant got loose?" Kathy's heart pounded in her chest she couldn't speak even if she wanted to
" You left the party and minutes later the tyrant got loose a few maids witnessed your maids packing up little properties you had." She still refused talk
" Loosen your mouth or I'll cut off your tongue." Lord Cassian ordered
" I wish to speak with the king alone." Kathy voiced out surprised at how her voice didn't crack
Everyone sneered at her the nerve of the human. The royals looked as if she had slapped them in the face
" How dare you..." Lord Rusford began but was cut short
" Why do you wish to speak with the king." Eric asked her curiously
She didn't reply, her expression only showed she was going to talk only to him
" Jamie what is her crime?" King Philip asked instead
" According to the investigation, though her presence wasn't felt there she seemed to possess the dragon core necklace I thought it was a decoy but now I know it was the real thing. Darla got blood from Andrew's blood which I found rather odd I had started watching her closely too when I found out she was getting close to the human princess. My guess is she knows about the tyrant from the wedding and proceeds to use to as a distraction In other to escape. Everything added up the necklace the blood and the party. She was bidding her time and it worked perfectly costing the lives of approximately a hundred and thirty one lives this very night. Lord Cassian?" Kathy flinched when she heard how many lives her actions had cost
So they were watching her this whole time how could she be so foolish?
" Her penalty should originally be death." Lord Cassian said and Eric's eyes narrowed at that but he said nothing
" How did you find out Darla got blood out of Andrew?" Eric asked
" I investigate every one your highness and I had to use... extreme measures." Jamie looked away
" Extreme measures?" Eric arch his brow
" His majesty said I should use everything I've got so I read a few minds." He said it casually.
The hall immediately became loud with whispers and murmuring.
" I told him to use whatever method, Andrew isn't dead Eric it was... necessary." They all knew reading memories was forbidden because if what it does to both parties. Jamie seemed to have it easy but it was dangerous sometimes the person whose memory was being read becomes dead brain.
Only Dylan could read a memory and the person would still be perfectly fine. He was an exception not that he follows rules or anything.
" Anyway I found out from Andrew he had said that there was a time that Darla was being nice to him which he found odd. Things led to things and I had to read it because he was asleep when she drew blood from him ." Andrew looked at Darla silencing promising her a painful death. He wasn't Damian he'll definitely kill her.
" Are you ready to confess? Who gave you the necklace?" The King asked
" I wish to speak with you in private your majesty it is important." Kathy still said
Phillip didn't like the way she was looking at him. He frowned at her clearly displeased
" Wouldn't you like to know who gave me the necklace your majesty?" Kathy asked in a mischievous way. That got both Eric and Phillips attention
Everywhere fell silent they looked at both the daring human princess and the King
" Leave us." Phillip ordered and immediately they all bowed and exited the hall . The royals giving Kathy a deadly look but she paid no attention to them
Eric gave Phillip a knowing look and Phillip returned the look. Both brothers looked at each other as if sending silent messages to one another.
Soon everyone left leaving only Kathy and the King alone
" I did released the tyrant your majesty." Kathy's confession shocked the King
