- Dawn Meeting -

🐾────── 🐺 ──────🐾

The day breaks, and Samuel awakens. Another night without that light appearing… how strange. He turns and sees Alex still asleep beside him. Determined, Samuel gets up and begins searching for the Alpha, but he's nowhere to be found. He must have gone to some important meeting without saying anything, he thinks, a slight unease growing at the leader's absence.

As he tries to guess the Alpha's whereabouts, Alex wakes up and walks over to him, his sleepy eyes still struggling to open.

— Good morning... — says the cub, rubbing his eyes.

— Good morning, little wolf. Did you sleep well? — Samuel asks.

Alex nods, but Samuel notices a small yawn escape him, making him smile.

— I noticed you didn't eat anything last night. What would you like for breakfast? — Samuel asks, his concern for the little one evident in his voice.

— Berries... — Alex replies, the enthusiasm slowly returning to his expression.

— Berries? Alright, I can get that for you — Samuel says, discreetly using his powers to make a bowl filled with vibrant fruit appear. They look fresh and juicy, their sweet scent filling the air.

He places the bowl in front of Alex, who begins eating enthusiastically, clearly satisfied.

— Don't hesitate to ask me for anything you need, alright? — Samuel says, watching the cub devour the fruit eagerly.

Alex simply nods in agreement. When he finishes eating, he walks over to Samuel again, his satisfied expression now replaced by curiosity.

— Finished? — Samuel asks, curious about what's on his mind.

Alex nods.

— I think the Alpha had some early commitment. I couldn't find him anywhere — Samuel comments, a slight furrow in his brow showing his concern.

— Strange… — Samuel reflects. — He doesn't usually leave without warning.

Before any other thought is spoken, the Alpha appears before them, his gaze serious but welcoming.

— I'm glad you're both awake. Come with me, the meeting is about to begin.

— Meeting? — Samuel asks, intrigued.

— Yes, to discuss the new rules, organization, and how life will be in the new pack. I've told you most of it already, but there will be some changes I'll explain once we arrive. Let's go. The pack is likely already waiting — the Alpha says, gesturing for them to follow.

Samuel and Alex exchange glances, a mix of anxiety and anticipation. The walk to the meeting spot is quiet, but the weight of what's to come lingers in the air.

When they arrive, they see the other wolves gathered, a certain buzz in the air as the Alpha climbs onto a stone to speak. A warrior wolf, responsible for order, calls for silence.

— Attention, everyone! The meeting is about to begin. Listen carefully, and if you have questions, raise your paw and speak — the Warrior announces, his firm voice echoing through the trees.

The Alpha begins to speak, his commanding voice capturing everyone's attention.

— Thank you all for being here. What I'll discuss today is extremely important and marks a new chapter for our pack. As you know, we leave tonight, hoping to reach the new territory before dawn. This new place will be our home, far from hunters and the great threats we've faced before.

A murmur of approval runs through the wolves, and Samuel feels a warmth growing in his chest at the hopes of a new beginning.

— Our new pack will be divided into three large regions, each with three packs. Each region will have three Alphas and three vice-leaders, working together to ensure everyone's protection. Our territory will be the Southern Region, which includes our pack, the Silver Moon Pack, the Dark Mist Pack, and the Golden Twilight Pack.

A wolf raises his paw, interrupting.

— Sir, aren't there four packs in the Southern Region? — he asks, confusion in his eyes.

— Yes, but one of them opposed our union and chose to isolate themselves in a remote area — the Alpha explains with a tone of understanding. — Continuing, we'll implement new rules in this new pack. Meetings will be held regularly between the Alphas of all regions and with our Queen present. Warrior and healer wolves will have specific dens, and we'll work collaboratively for the good of all.

Samuel listens, feeling more and more like a part of this world, as the Alpha continues.

— An important change will be in how pups are trained. There will no longer be individual mentors for small groups. Now, each role will have one mentor responsible for all trainees, like a teacher. Also, food will be distributed equally, so no one is left without sustenance.

After a pause, the Alpha adds, looking directly at the crowd:

— Now, one final important point. As you all know, we have a human living among us. He will come with us to the new pack and be an integral part of it. I know he's different, but I trust him as I trust our Queen, and for that reason, I've chosen him to be our vice-leader. Come here, Samuel.

The announcement causes surprised reactions among the wolves, who exchange confused glances. Samuel watches the situation silently, until, from the middle of the crowd, someone speaks up.

— I support him, sir. — It was Sam.

Surprised, the other wolves begin to murmur, but one by one, they begin to voice their support for Samuel, until the majority agrees, creating a chorus of approval.

— Excellent. Thank you for your trust. Don't forget, we are all a family. We must treat each other with respect. The meeting is over — the Alpha concludes, with a satisfied expression.

After the meeting, the Alpha approaches Samuel and Alex, pride shining in his eyes.

— I told you they would have to accept you as vice-leader, Samuel.

— Impressive, Alpha — Samuel replies, still surprised by the acceptance from the other wolves.

— Let's go back. I have something else to tell you, Samuel, and a surprise for Alex.

Back at the den, the Alpha calls Alex over, his gaze soft and encouraging.

— Alex, I have something for you.

Within seconds, a necklace made of small shells and feathers appears around Alex's neck, similar to Samuel's, with a special glow.

— He's officially your pup now, Samuel.

— Do you like it, Alex? — the Alpha asks warmly.

Alex nods excitedly, his eyes shining with joy.

— I'm glad you like it. Samuel, one of the packs found out you would be vice-leader, and out of rivalry, they decided to name a human as a member too — the Alpha laughs, shaking his head. — Competition between packs? That sounds interesting.

— Before nightfall, get your things ready. We must leave before dawn — the Alpha warns, ending the conversation, as Samuel feels a good feeling about what's to come.
