Amenominaka: Lava Great Waterfall!
This was a calamity-level jutsu born from Kai's mastery of Amenominaka: Lava. With a single motion, he tore open the fabric of the lava dimension itself, letting torrents of molten rock pour straight into the mortal world.
Simple. Brutal. Catastrophically destructive.
"What—what the hell is that?!"
"Run! Get out of here!"
"Lava? Lava! Why is there lava falling from the sky?!"
…
Panic swept through Kumogakure. Ninja and civilians alike scattered in terror.
Here and there, a few desperate shinobi tried to stem the tide with Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet, Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique, or Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave.
But most Cloud ninja specialized in Lightning Release and taijutsu—their Water Release was pitiful at best. And the sky itself had split open for kilometers, spewing tens of thousands of cubic meters of lava every second. Against that deluge, their water jutsu were less than useless.
"Kai Mitarashi! What do you think you're doing?! Stop this! Do you hear me?!" The Fourth Raikage's eyes were wild, his voice raw as he screamed up at Kai.
"Stop? And why should I?" Kai looked down at the Raikage, voice utterly calm.
The Fourth Raikage glared up at the figure floating in midair, fury burning in his eyes. "Kai Mitarashi! What do you want from us? You can have the Six Paths ninja tools—just stop the lava!"
"Raikage, the Six Paths ninja tools are already mine. You want to bargain with what's already in my hands? Tell me, do you think I'm that stupid?" Kai replied, voice cold as steel.
"You—!" The Fourth Raikage pointed at Kai, his whole body trembling. After a long, bitter silence, he ground out, "Kai Mitarashi! What more do you want? As long as Kumogakure can provide it, it's yours!"
Humiliation burned in his chest. He was a Kage, a man at the pinnacle of the shinobi world—yet faced with Kai, the gulf between them was so vast it was hopeless. That crushing sense of powerlessness left the Raikage unable to even contemplate attacking.
"The chakra cannon," Kai said, eyes flicking to the massive weapon behind the Raikage.
"The chakra cannon?! Absolutely not!" The Fourth Raikage's answer was instant and fierce. The chakra cannon was the only thing left in Kumogakure that could threaten Kai Mitarashi. There was no way he'd hand it over.
But Kai didn't even look annoyed. He simply gazed toward the burning, half-ruined village. "Hmm… Looks like nearly half of Kumogakure is about to be swallowed by lava. Raikage, if you don't decide soon, there won't be a Kumogakure left to defend."
The Fourth Raikage could see it himself—his body trembled, fists clenched. After a long, agonizing silence, he choked out, "I… I agree."
And with those words, all the strength seemed to drain from him. The once-mighty Raikage, still in his prime, now looked like a man in his eighties.
"Since you agree, I'll be taking it. Seal!"
With a single hand seal, Kai sealed the enormous chakra cannon into a scroll, tucking it alongside the Six Paths ninja tools in the pouch strapped to his left thigh.
"Now, stop the lava," the Raikage said dully, eyes empty.
"Of course."
The Amenominaka: Lava dimension was linked to Kai's will. With the faintest thought, the flood of molten rock began to slow… and the yawning rift in the sky shrank, then closed entirely.
If not for the fact that nearly two-thirds of Kumogakure had been wiped off the map, no one would have believed that the heavens themselves had split open and rained down hell.
"If there's nothing else… then, farewell." Kai said from midair, voice cool and distant—and then he vanished.
The Raikage stared at the empty sky, fists clenched tight—then, slowly, he let them go. It was like a rabbit facing a lion: there was no room for hatred, only fear. The sheer difference in power left the Raikage with nothing but dread before Kai.
…
In just a few days, after Kai Mitarashi single-handedly crushed the joint Rock-Cloud ninja alliance, the shinobi world was shaken once again!
It was Kai Mitarashi—again.
This time, he'd stormed straight into Kumogakure itself, leaving the village nearly destroyed.
…
Land of Earth, Iwagakure.
Still bedridden, Ōnoki listened to Iwamon's report about what had happened in the Hidden Cloud. Remembering Kai's figure on the battlefield, a flicker of fear flashed in his eyes.
He turned to Iwamon, his tone harsh: "From now on, no shinobi in this village is allowed to provoke Kai Mitarashi. Anyone who does will be treated as a traitor!"
He paused, then added, as if even that wasn't enough: "As long as Kai Mitarashi remains in Konoha, Iwagakure will not issue any missions related to Konoha. None!"
"Yes, Tsuchikage-sama," Iwamon replied, not thinking the old man was being overly cautious at all.
In fact, Iwamon thought they ought to cut off all dealings with Konoha, just in case some trivial matter one day brought Kai Mitarashi, the harbinger of disaster, to Iwagakure.
Think about it—the five great shinobi villages.
Aside from Konoha, Kai's own home, Iwagakure was the only one he hadn't "visited."
In Sunagakure, Kai had beaten the Fourth Kazekage and destroyed the Chikamatsu Collection of Ten Puppets—but at least he'd helped with the village's reforestation.
In Kirigakure, the whole Mist Village had been razed, though casualties were few. Kai had even rebuilt the place with Wood Release, going above and beyond.
But in Kumogakure? Two-thirds of the village was annihilated. The dead and wounded were countless.
Sand, Mist, Cloud—each village had suffered worse than the last. If it was Iwagakure's turn…
Iwamon didn't even want to imagine it.
Only one thought remained: Absolutely, under no circumstances, should anyone in the village provoke Kai Mitarashi—the calamity incarnate!
