Chapter 92 - Chapter 92: The Dwelling Place

Under the vast range of the Byakugan, even the fish swimming in underground rivers a hundred meters below the surface were clearly visible to Kai. Yet, amidst the clarity, one place stood out—a glowing, cyan-green pool that the Byakugan could not penetrate.

"I've found it! This is the place."

With his target located, Kai wasted no time. Following the path revealed by the Byakugan, he entered a cave situated beside a waterfall.

The pitch-black cave posed no challenge to Kai, whose Byakugan illuminated every detail, allowing him to traverse it as if it were broad daylight.

After about half an hour, Kai reached the end of the dark cave.

"'A' of 'Amō'—symbolizing the beginning of all things?" Kai murmured, raising his head to look at the ancient, rustic engraving on the ceiling directly above the pool.

Squatting slightly, he scooped a handful of the pale cyan water with one hand. To his surprise, the water dissipated as soon as it left the pool, leaving no trace of moisture on his hand. Kai's eyes narrowed in intrigue. "Hmm, this isn't water. It's a materialized form of energy that vanishes once removed from the pool."

Straightening up, Kai leaped directly into the pool.

"This... is the power of space?"

The moment he entered the pool, Kai felt a familiar yet obscure spatial energy enveloping him. Due to his mastery of techniques like the Flying Thunder God Technique and Divine Descent Technique, Kai's sensitivity to spatial energy was unparalleled, and he immediately recognized its nature.

The pool itself wasn't particularly large, spanning only a few hundred meters. Before long, Kai emerged from its depths.

"Huh? My body feels so light... has gravity decreased here?" As soon as he stepped out of the water, Kai felt an unusual lightness, as if a single step could send him soaring into the air. "Has the gravitational pull been altered? Is this the effect of the Tenseigan?"

Around him, glowing yellow spheres and earthen-colored rock spheres floated in midair.

"So, this is the 'Memory Cage'? If touched, one would be drawn into their past memories. The color matches that of the yellow Tenseigan. Could it be that the yellow Tenseigan also has the ability to create illusions?" Kai muttered, frowning slightly. His left eye, the Tenseigan, suddenly activated.

An immense suction force radiated from the Tenseigan, pulling in the glowing yellow spheres one by one.

As the last glowing sphere was absorbed into his Tenseigan, the floating rock spheres fell to the ground, and the entire space was plunged into darkness. Kai closed his eyes slowly, allowing himself to process the changes.

After an indeterminate amount of time, his eyes snapped open.

His left eye remained the cyan Tenseigan, but faint, barely perceptible yellow light now flickered within the black pupil of his right eye.

"As I suspected, these yellow spheres are manifestations of the Tenseigan's ocular power. Without the sustaining force of this power, gravity here has returned to normal. It seems I was correct—the yellow Tenseigan indeed possesses the ability to manipulate gravity and repulsion."

Having confirmed his hypothesis, a look of excitement spread across Kai's face.

Without hesitation, he leaped into another pool at the end of the passage.

Emerging from the pool, Kai was greeted by the sight of a massive crab, towering tens of meters high. The moment it noticed Kai, the crab seemed to erupt in fury, raising its enormous claw and slamming it down toward him.

"Yang Release: Great Eruption!"

A colossal fist of molten lava engulfed the crab entirely. It didn't even have time to struggle before being reduced to a charred heap.

Kai calmly walked out of the damp, chaotic cave, stepping into a vast expanse of water.

"An ocean... underground?" Kai frowned slightly, activating his Kagura Mind's Eye.

Through the enhanced sensory technique, he realized that the entire space was warped. To put it vividly, this space existed on the inner surface of a spherical structure, with the 'sun' in the sky positioned at the very center of the sphere.

"This definitely isn't underground! It's more like an alternate dimension, similar to Mount Myoboku, Ryuchi Cave, or Shikkotsu Forest. The spatial energy in those pools now makes perfect sense—they serve as reverse summoning conduits. As expected of the former dwelling place of the Otsutsuki clan. Truly extravagant," Kai mused.

Glancing at the glowing 'sun' in the sky, Kai knew it was a passage connecting to the moon. After a moment of contemplation, he decided to first explore the ruins of the Otsutsuki clan in this area.

Under the scrutiny of his Byakugan, it didn't take long for Kai to locate the ruins of the Otsutsuki clan. However, he had no interest in studying the architectural style of a civilization from centuries ago. Instead, he made his way directly to the tallest structure in the dwelling place—the Otsutsuki Shrine.

The dimly lit shrine was in a state of disrepair. Broken statues and crumbling walls filled the space, a testament to its long abandonment. At the center of the shrine, an octagonal Otsutsuki family crest bore ancient inscriptions:

"The ancient oath… Should humanity's bonds crumble… The Tenseigan shall awaken… And with the fist of the moon, humanity shall be eradicated..."

"Fist Break: Void Rend!"

Uninterested in the prophecy, Kai simply punched the ground, shattering it and revealing a hidden passage leading underground. Without hesitation, he descended.

A dark, foreboding cemetery stretched out before him. Just as Kai was about to investigate further, a hoarse, ancient voice echoed through the space.

"The Tenseigan! Yes... I can feel it... This is the aura of the Tenseigan!"

From the depths of the cemetery, a frail, dust-covered old man slowly shuffled forward. His empty eye sockets seemed to gaze at Kai, his face etched with despair. Trembling with emotion, he exclaimed, "A member of the branch family has awakened the Tenseigan on their own! Could it be... is the world truly doomed? This was never the will of our ancestor, Hamura!"

Kai observed the old man, sensing that the only thing keeping him alive was sheer willpower. However, the emotional shock he had just experienced likely meant he didn't have much time left.

"You're mistaken. I am not a member of the Otsutsuki branch family, nor do I have any intention of destroying the world," Kai replied calmly.

Hearing Kai's words, the old man's expression shifted to one of doubt. "Not of the Otsutsuki clan? How could you possibly awaken the Tenseigan?"
