Chapter 250 - Chapter 250: Even Powerful Beings Curse Eachother?

"Alright then, Jeanne… hiss, although this nickname sounds really nice, I feel calling you Jeanne rolls off the tongue more smoothly." Aiden tried calling once, but still felt that calling her Jeanne was both smooth and pleasant.

'Saint Jeanne, ah,' he suddenly thought of that Servant holding a flag from a certain anime.

"Nope, not okay. Because a lot of people call me Jeanne, I feel there should be a name between you and me that's different from ordinary people." The silver-haired witch shook her head, a look of anticipation flashing through her eyes.

"Aiden, do you have a nickname?" She immediately asked, "Your family's nickname for you!"

'A nickname, huh... There definitely was one, but...'

He immediately shook his head, pushing those unbearable-to-recall memories out of his mind, "No, no nickname, they always just called me by my name."

"I see!"

The silver-haired witch seemed a bit troubled.

"Then how about I give you a nickname?"

Aiden glanced at Jeanne, who was tilting her head to look at him, "Just call me Aiden, I'm already used to being called that."

"That won't do." The silver-haired witch bit her alluring red lips, her beautiful brows slightly furrowing upward.

"I'll give you one, how about I call you Cheshire Cat? When I was a kid, I had a Cheshire Cat doll, I super loved it."

"No way…"

Aiden immediately rejected it. He didn't mind having a nickname, but this name was way too cute. Besides, it seemed like another witch also called someone by this nickname, that's not some unique name. Unless someday that someone died, or he managed to snatch the name from that witch's mouth.

Uh… Did he just accept that nickname?

Aiden's lips immediately twitched a few times.

Seeing Aiden looking clearly annoyed, Jeanne instead became even more confident in her idea, "Doesn't matter, I am going to call you Cheshire Cat. You'll call me Jeanne from now on, not allowed to get it wrong. Deal? Cheshire Cat."

"No." Aiden shook his head more firmly, "I won't agree. Say whatever you want, it's useless."

After speaking, he stood up, planning to go to the bedroom, but immediately turned around and asked Jeanne, "Jeanne… alright, Jeanne, where am I sleeping?"

At that moment, the silver-haired witch was still muttering under her breath about what was so wrong with the nickname Cheshire Cat.

Suddenly hearing Aiden's words, she abruptly raised her head and exclaimed, "Oh no! I forgot to tidy up the room and make the bed for you. Wait a second, I'll go find some sheets and a blanket…"

Watching Jeanne rush into the storage room in a hurry, Aiden breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, he'd managed to steer the topic away from that nickname.

Inside the storage room, Jeanne was rummaging through boxes. Even though she was a woman who had been single for hundreds of years, finding a second set of clean sheets and blankets was still easy, because she often had to change hers, too.

"Found it. Sure enough, it was here."

Very quickly, Jeanne found the set of bedding she had changed out last month in a box. But just as she pulled out the bedding, a cold male voice rang in her ears.

"Jeanne, I've already sensed another witch. Go, find her, then capture her."

Hearing this voice, Jeanne's movements paused, and a flicker of struggle passed through her eyes. Then she said fiercely, "Shut up, I got it."

After saying that, she hugged the bedding and was about to leave the storage room, but the male voice sounded again.

"This afternoon, I found a mysterious outsider at the school where you work. Before you depart, find him, track him, and then, kill him."

This time, Jeanne didn't respond immediately. She stood frozen in place. She could already guess who the person being referred to was.

After a while, she finally replied in a low voice, "Got it."

Then after another pause, the male voice no longer sounded. Only then did she walk out of the storage room with a gloomy face.

At the doorway, she paused. After a moment of thought, she forced a smile onto her face, turned into the master bedroom, then came out again and entered the secondary bedroom to make the bed for Aiden.

Not long after, she came out of the secondary bedroom. Her expression had already returned to normal, only her eyes occasionally flashed with a trace of worry.

But when she walked into the living room and saw Aiden, even the final hint of worry in her eyes disappeared.

"The bed is made, you can go sleep now." Jeanne smiled sweetly and said to Aiden, "Those are the sheets I took off my own bed, they're full of my scent. I hope that when you sleep on them, it feels like you're sleeping in my arms."

Those words made Aiden glance at Jeanne's chest. The bath towel wrapped around it was lifted far away from her lower body, completely disconnected from the rest.

When she walked, aside from the part over her chest not moving, everything below that fluttered wildly like it was being blown by a strong wind.

So Aiden shook his head and said, "That feeling definitely doesn't compare."

"What a pity you didn't say yes earlier tonight. Otherwise, you could be experiencing the embrace of my vast bosom right now." The silver-haired witch said, leaning her body forward slightly. One hand gently brushed over her chest, the other supporting her perky buttocks, striking a seductive pose.

"I'm in no rush. There'll definitely be a chance in the future." Aiden smiled, then looked away, got up, walked past Jeanne, and entered the secondary bedroom, even closing the door behind him.

With a bang as the door shut, Jeanne's gaze turned dark once more.

"Balder, you bastard…" she began to curse in a low voice, "One day I'll personally blow your head off and send you to see Madam Styx, so she can give you a proper reception."

Madam Styx was the demon she had signed a contract with. Sending someone to meet Madam Styx basically meant sending them to hell.

"But just like with her, Aiden, I can't bring myself to hurt you either. Sure enough, even though it's only been half a day, you're already as important to me as she is."

Jeanne mumbled again with her mouth. She had already made up her mind, even if she carried out the order, she wouldn't go all-out against the person most important in her heart.

After all, carrying out an order didn't necessarily mean killing someone. The restrictive magic controlling her body also had loopholes that could be exploited.

———

Inside the secondary bedroom, Aiden lay on the bed with his arm as a pillow. Honestly, the scent all over the bedding from the silver-haired witch truly gave him a feeling of peace of mind.

But maybe because he'd been teased by the witch so many times tonight, even after lying there for a while, he still couldn't fall asleep. He could only close his eyes and think about things.

'I need to find a time or opportunity to remove the restrictive magic on Jeanne. It's just… according to what that one said, removing the restriction on her body should be simple, but doing so will definitely attract Balder's attention.'

'He possesses the Left Eye of Light, and defeating him won't be easy. Not to mention, he's not even the most dangerous one in this world.'

Before the main heroine of this story world formally appears, Aiden didn't want to expose his existence too early. Even though several powerful beings were helping him, he really enjoyed this kind of peaceful time exploring everything in a new world.

'Speaking of which, you guys are so strong. Can't you help me remove Jeanne's restriction in a way that Balder won't notice?'

After thinking for a while, Aiden tried contacting Them.

["We can."]

After a long while, one voice replied. Judging by the tone, it was likely the same one who had previously scoffed coldly at him.

["But you must use My power. You are not allowed to use that sl*t's power."]

Aiden, '…'

'Even a being that powerful curses?'

["Say that again, if you dare."]

Suddenly, another voice rang in his head.

["Sl*t!"] a disdainful voice immediately answered.

["Pick a place for a duel! B*tch!"]

["Let's see who's afraid of who? Come on!"]

'...'

Listening to the constant cursing in his head, Aiden really couldn't imagine that the few beings the system called the most powerful in the multiverse… were actually fighting like this.

But he had to admit, they sure had an impressive vocabulary. There were even some words he'd never heard before.

'Quiet.'

Aiden couldn't take it anymore and spoke out in his mind to stop them.

But clearly, the two didn't care about him at all and kept quarreling.

'Great… now I definitely won't be able to sleep.'

Aiden lay flat on the bed, eyes dull, staring at the ceiling.

However, at that moment, Jeanne's voice suddenly came from outside the secondary bedroom door.

"Little kitty, are you asleep?"

At the same moment her voice sounded, the noise in Aiden's head abruptly disappeared, as if forcefully cut off.

'Could it be because of Jeanne's appearance?'

Aiden was a little confused, but didn't think too much about it. He also didn't realize there was something off about Jeanne's way of addressing him. He simply replied, "Not yet!"

"Could it be you can't sleep because you're smelling my scent, or… are you using my blanket to comfort yourself?" The witch's words were bold and direct.

"..." Aiden said helplessly, "No way. I've already passed that age."

"Then it must be insomnia." Jeanne's voice was full of temptation, "But it's okay, let Teacher Jeanne give you a lesson. You'll fall asleep right away. And by the way, Teacher has already changed into a never-before-worn professional outfit. Want to see? Student Aiden~"

Hearing that, an image of Jeanne immediately appeared in Aiden's mind, wearing a white blouse on top, a tight black pencil skirt on the bottom, long legs wrapped in black stockings, high heels on her feet.

Aiden shook his head hard and forced the image of teacher-outfit Jeanne out of his mind. The witch's overly aggressive advances were getting to be too much even for him.

"No need. I'll fall asleep soon." Aiden decided he needed to calm down first.

Soon, he heard Jeanne's slightly disappointed voice, "Alright then, I won't disturb you."

Just as he wondered if he had rejected her too coldly and maybe hurt the witch's feelings a bit, the secondary bedroom door suddenly opened from the outside.

"She's going to force her way in?" Aiden immediately suspected that possibility.

But he guessed wrong. The silver-haired witch didn't enter. She only opened the door a crack… and threw in a palm-sized piece of soft cloth.

It landed directly on his face.
