Killian clenched his fist so tight his knuckles turned white. He knew the question would come but he didn't expect for it to affect him this much. First, his ego was hurt because how was he going to tell her that he couldn't shift? He couldn't shift and yet he always acted like he was God? Even the so-called furniture, Enzo, could shift and he had a beautiful wolf.
"He can't shift?" Enzo thought to himself as he read Killian's body language. It might take people a while to guess this, but Enzo was truly intelligent, and reading the King's body language, it was clear he couldn't shift. Interesting. There was more Enzo needed to find.
As for Xavier, he kept quiet. He already knew how this would go. Killian would give an excuse, Elena may or may not buy it and then the night would continue. However, what came out of Killian's mouth instead shocked Xavier to the bone.
