The room had fallen into silence.
The silver light of the moon passed through the tall church window and settled on the stone floor of the room; a calm light that stood in complete contrast to the chaos that had formed across the world over the past few weeks.
Daniel sat on the chair by the window, the communication talisman glowing in his hand. A few moments later, a familiar, angry voice came from it.
"I've been trying to contact you for two months!"
"I was busy clearing the tower." Daniel didn't even blink. When you're inside the tower, communication devices don't work with the outside world and practically shut down.
But he was too lazy to explain all of this. If the other party couldn't figure it out themselves, then they were an idiot, and there was no need to explain to such a person.
A few seconds of silence passed, so long that even Serys seemed unsure she had heard correctly.
"The tower? Which floor?"
"A few floors higher than before." Daniel shrugged.
