Chapter: 29, Sweet Moments
Both Suho and Rain were not so close at the beginning.
Even though Suho did match her taste, she obviously was not so social to get his attention among the many girls in the class. Not only their class, even girls from the other classes occasionally peeked in to see him.
But for some reason, Suho never paid any attention to them. He was polite, but never too friendly. He always kept his distance from others.
He was smart and physically strong, making him more popular among the students. A smile was present on his face all the time. Even when some kids tried to get under his skin, he handled hem very smoothly. He was much more mature than any of the kids their age.
He was her deskmate of the same age, but she always felt that he was similar to her deceased older brother. She was getting close to him, but not too close.
Her feelings were in turmoil, so she decided to just be friends.
He was very good to her. He was the second closest friend she ever had. He understood her, remembered her preferences and it was as if he knew everything about her. Rain felt the warmth being around him that she only ever felt once before.
The memory was faint and only the feeling was remembered. But she knew the person who made her feel warm like that before was someone important. She knew her feelings for Suho were not just friendship, but something more.
One day, they were all learning the basics about the nightmare creatures whose information was currently available to them. Everything was going as usual, but Rain felt something was terribly wrong.
Suddenly, an alarm rang throughout the school. A rank one nightmare gate has opened near the school.
Everyone went into panic, the possibility of encountering death terrified these children who never encountered any life threatening dangers.
Rain was scared, as the loom of death hovered over everyone. Everyone turned to a corner and stood close to each other.
Everyone, even the teachers were on guard on the corner, waiting for the nearby awakened warriors to appear. In the crowd of students, Rain noticed the figure of Suho looking out the window, away from the crowd.
Suho was looking at the nightmare gate outside the school gate, in the road. He knew that it would be too late if they wait for the nearby awakened to wait.
Rain wanted to call out to him, but was shocked to see him jump down the window. Her heart jumped with worry as she shouted towards his retreating figure…
"Suho!"
She quickly rush toward the window and shouted his name again.
Suho looked back at her and gave a handsome smile that made her skip a beat between the worry.
Suho looked at the nightmare gate that was about to open soon. He quickly used his Awakened ability, [Beast Transformation]. His strength, agility, endurance and senses all enhanced exponentially.
To the surprise of all the students, teachers and Rain, Suho's hair turned silver, his physique tensed and a symbol appeared in his forehead. A aura surrounded his body as the shadows formed a glove in his hand.
Rain was in a trance for a moment. She couldn't comprehend what was happening to Suho when a person in the crowd shouted
"Isn't this like an Aspect Ability? Has Suho become an awakened?"
Everyone was shocked. It was common knowledge that the nightmare spell can only infect you if you're 16-18 or you're near a nightmare gate. So, a person at the age of 12 being awakened was shocking.
What does being awakened at such an early age mean? It means that you have to enter the dream realm, fight those powerful abominations at that age. The person has to sacrifice their childhood, the moments that are precious to most awakened, just for a chance to survive.
Most of the students were excited to see someone their age being an awakened, thinking of it as something cool. But the adults only had pity for that boy. But out of all of them, Rain was the only one who had tears in her eyes.
She felt sad that he had to face life and death when she can live as she wanted. She couldn't help but imagine how much he might've missed of his childhood
At that moment, her heart stabilized. Her feelings that were complicated before were now clear. 'I Love Suho' she admitted in her mind. From now on, she would do anything make feel the warmth he might've missed and confess her feelings.

After a while, the gate broke and quickly nightmare creatures started to invade the waking world. The first creature that came out was an awakened beast that looked like a bull.
Suho punched its head and the skull was crushed to pieces as blood splattered around. The beast's body fell to the ground and the next abomination came out.
Everyone who watched the scene was shocked. An awakened nightmare creature that was very, very hard to kill, even for an awakened warrior. And it was killed in a single blow?
Even if the creature was only a beast, it wouldn't be this easy to kill for an awakened warrior. The adults that knew about the general strength of the awakened were even more horrified.
The strength that this 12 year old just showed was comparable to that of an ascended, a Master. The warriors who have conquered their second nightmare were the only people who could achieve something like one tapping an awakened creature, even that has to be a really strong ascended.
But how can this 12 year old be a Master? Even if there was one, their names would've been known by everyone on Earth. But no one has ever heard of someone who has become an awakened let alone an ascended at the extreme young age of 12.
Ignoring the creature's blood on his hands, Suho attacked towards the next nightmare creature that came out of the nightmare gate…
