Chapter 13 - : 6 times a day?

At this point, Xuan's eyes landed on his walking sticks. What was happening? Why was—he looked at his legs, eyes widened.

"I'm... I can—" Xuan stuttered.

"Taboo Technique Book found: Taboo Sword Art Technique."

"Fuck, I'm walking."

He was completely overjoyed. He didn't know how to express the joy he felt, maybe because he hadn't jumped in his life before.

But Xuan knew right now he should be jumping, but he wasn't. He sighs.

"I can finally walk and this is how I react," Xuan chuckles, closing his eyes. "Hmph, I really am weird."

After calming himself down, Xuan faced the system announcing the new book it found, which was another course of celebration.

To be honest, he just said all those things because he was pissed off, and he didn't expect such a cultivation technique to exist.

Normally, cultivators grow stronger by dual, but if he's right, then this technique is supposed to make him stronger the more he cultivated?

However, the book was sealed. It wasn't like the rest. The carvings on it were different, and it had a sword symbol on it.

"Why is it sealed? Why can't I open the book?" asked Xuan.

"Apologies, but the Taboo Sword Art Technique can only be inherited by the keeper of the library."

"Well, isn't that me?"

"Confirmed. Do you wish to choose this book as your lifelong technique? Techniques chosen as lifelong cultivation must be used frequently. Once chosen, excluding the day chosen, the inheritor must practice this six times a day for next day."

Xuan froze. The book was floating, looking at him while he was summing the information he just got.

First, he needed to know if choosing a lifelong technique would restrict him from using other techniques, so Xuan asked exactly that.

"Not at all," the system replied.

Although Xuan didn't know what's really inside this book—plus while he was still a cripple, he had seen a few books that needed his full body active.

Now that he's fit, shouldn't he be trying them out instead? But he needed to teach Han a lesson, and this book could give him the chance.

"Aiiish, this is confusing. Six times a day, where in the world can that happen? This is risky."

No, this is good actually. "Yes, yes... Yu Chen is getting married and the son-in-law is coming tomorrow. Yes, I'll practice this six times a day with Han's daughter, but," Xuan paused.

Knowing there were flaws in his plans, and if it happens that he misses a day...

"What happens then? If I miss a day?"

"You'll lose all your yin, and your meridian yin will be broken."

It came as a shock, but Xuan wasn't really that surprised. He thought the consequences would be bigger—that way he'd be certain the book is good.

"But what's the difference between choosing this book and another book?"

"Simple, Library Keeper. Taboo Sword Art enhances the user's sword proficiency, magic art, and yins are more vital. Taboo Sword Art also comes with a weapon. It is among the sixth pillars of taboo cultivation techniques."

Hearing about the six pillars of taboo, Xuan's eyes widened. Fantasy novels he read have it that the gods themselves even needed these books.

Although it was tempting, they all finally destroyed them—or so they thought—but if the book he's looking at is among the six pillars...

Then Xuan was one decision away from becoming the strongest dual cultivator in the entire world.

"And Taboo Cultivation books only give the user yin. Although they can be chosen as your inherited technique, I guarantee they're nothing compared to the sixth."

Xuan sighs. The system was undoubtedly right. It seemed to know everything. It marvels Xuan where the voice is even coming from.

The book wasn't designed like the rest. It was indeed created differently.

"Do you have the remaining five pillars? Maybe I can pick from them."

"Apologies, but the bloodline of Chen was only allowed to keep the 3rd pillar: Taboo Sword Art Technique."

Xuan frowned. So this book is third in place among the six pillars of taboo techniques. Well, it wasn't that bad.

Without any more information, Xuan starts walking closer to the book. As he stretched his hand out for it, he stops.

"If I don't complete the requirements, I'll become a cripple again, huh?" Xuan's fingers were shaking.

He knew the weight of what he was now doing. A cripple again? There wasn't much difference from a dead man.

However, as he touches the book with the mind of accepting it—boom—Xuan was blown meters away from the book.

Hitting his back hard on the space world floor—just what happened?

As he looks, the book automatically starts flipping its pages with a blinding light and at a very fast rate his eyes couldn't follow.

However, it soon stops and lands heavy on the floor. Xuan stood up, dusting himself. The fall barely added to the bruises he already had.

"Synchronization has been completed; no one else can inherit or use this technique unless the Keeper is dead."

Was what Xuan heard the system say. He was completely okay with it—his own dual cultivation technique.

Stepping close to the book, Xuan saw something else. It was a big sword wrapped in black clothing. "Uh? What's the weapon doing here?"

"The sword is that which will grow stronger as yourself."

Xuan looked at the big sword, adjusting his legs because he tried picking it up just now and he couldn't. "Well, what stage is it now?"

"Since you've broken past meridian stage, the Taboo Sword is at Spirit Combustion Stage 1, just like the Keeper."

"T-The-then," Xuan kept groaning, trying with all his might to lift up the sword. "Then tell me why it's this heavy," Xuan breathed out, giving up.

He couldn't even raise it a bit. "Because you can only use Taboo equipment, items, and Taboo magic by imagining you're already doing it," said the system.

This imagining shit again. Xuan felt stupid. This same shit almost got him killed a few moments ago.

But remembering how he got beaten just now changed Xuan's mood. He wasn't happy anymore and just picked up the sword with his toe.

Grabbed it with his hand in mid and hung it on his shoulder. With the book opened in his hands, he mutters:

"Li Zhi... Uncle Han, I'll destroy your meridians."
