"Impressive, but now—" Bevrel murmured after seeing the colossus continue to regenerate, each and every time, faster and faster.
He had kept attacking for almost a full minute, yet the Aberration didn't seem to care. In fact, it was smiling in an utterly unsettling way. Well, that was its smile, after all.
"Watch out for this next strike. I won't wait for your regeneration. I'll exterminate you." A wicked grin spread across the devil's face.He had played around long enough.
"How about we capture it alive?" A voice suddenly echoed. It belonged to the other devil.
"I could do so much research on it—such a unique specimen. Absolute regeneration, incredible adaptability. And who knows what else it's hiding... I want it." Aliken was ecstatic. He hadn't expected to find such a creature in this forsaken world.
But before Bevrel could say anything, laughter made the two devils frown.Who dared mock them? He had spoken those words in the demonic tongue—how could a human possibly understand what was said, let alone laugh at it?
"Apologies, apologies—" The voice belonged to Jeremy. He hadn't expected such powerful devils to miss something so obvious. "Leo'sol, don't you think it's time to take this fight seriously? These two want to capture you alive."
Leo'sol wasn't taking the battle seriously at all. To him, it looked more like a game. Why would a creature with absolute regeneration care about taking a few lethal hits?
The devils exchanged glances. They were shocked. Did that human actually understand what Aliken had said? How?
But before they could keep thinking about it, Leo'sol roared. His scream was unlike before. He had stopped playing.Well, to be fair, nothing had really changed. He had simply activated his ability, Concept Rejection.
"Hmpf, so you weren't taking me seriously?" Bevrel chuckled lightly. "Didn't seem like it."
With that, he launched himself at the colossus with fury. This time, he wouldn't stop at a few punches. He would annihilate him. Crush every single possibility.
Aliken, however, noticed something strange after the Aberration's scream. A dark, immaterial aura surrounded it. Invisible to the naked eye, which is why Bevrel hadn't noticed it.But he had—after all, his abilities were special.
Bevrel, unaware of everything, smashed his fist straight into the creature's face.
Thump—A dull sound echoed.
Thump—Then another. And another.
"How is this possible—" The devil's eyes widened as he kept punching the colossus, but nothing. His blows—or rather, his concept—wasn't working anymore. It had become completely ineffective.
Then Leo'sol started to counterattack. But it was obvious. He had taken no damage. His attacks were too weak to actually hurt the devil.
Despite the difference in size, Leo'sol was clearly the weaker one.The fight dragged on for several minutes, with both sides exchanging completely useless blows.
"Well, I guess it's time to use his strongest ability," Jeremy thought while scanning the surroundings. He didn't want to make Leo'sol explode while other humans were nearby. After all, he had no idea how large the explosion might be.
But just as he looked around, his eyes met with someone—or rather, something.
"Oh well..." Jeremy smiled. "Why not? Why shouldn't you have some fun too?"
He was approaching the other Aberration, SuperCannon. The name didn't lie, and judging by its abilities entirely focused on destruction, Jeremy immediately knew what to do.

"Let's not waste any more time, then." Jeremy said, gently stroking the twin wolf heads of his Aberration. "SuperCannon, unleash a Reversal—"
But just as Jeremy was about to complete his command, something happened on the battlefield.
Bevrel had grown tired. He activated his strongest Skill.
"True Incarnation."
It allowed him to fully transform into a demon with a single goal in mind, kill his enemy. His damage would skyrocket, and his entire being would be empowered, turning him into a mindless killing machine.
Of course, the transformation wasn't permanent—but it would last long enough to kill Leo'sol. At least, that's what he believed...
But just as the devil's transformation into a murderous super-demon was about to occur, Jeremy finished his command.
"—Bean."
The wolf heads of SuperCannon snapped open, generating Flame and Glacial energy. Then its wings spread wide, summoning Thunder around them. An instant later, the energies condensed into a devastating beam of destructive power that blasted straight into the transforming devil's body.
The timing was perfect.
"Sh*t—"
BOOM.
Poor Bevrel didn't even get the chance to transform. He was annihilated in a single strike from Jeremy's mount.
The battlefield fell into complete silence. The explosion had been deafening, shaking everyone present. Aliken was horrified. They should never have underestimated him—but there's no medicine for regret.
All that remained of Bevrel was frozen ash. The surrounding air crackled with static, keeping everyone at bay.
"Impossible—" Aliken muttered, staring at the devil's remains.
"Should I flee and abandon the mission? Not worth it, after all—"
But just as that thought crossed his mind, a murderous gaze froze him in place. A shiver coursed through his entire body.
Aliken slowly turned his gaze.
A black skeleton, simple at first glance, devoid of any remarkable traits, was staring straight at him.
Those weren't the eyes of a predator—they were something far worse.
Paralyzed by fear, Aliken snapped out of it the moment he heard the laughter of the human who seemed to command these strange beings.
"That was insanely fun. SuperCannon, you're amazing!"
The devil watched as the human in the distance embraced the Aberration.
"I guess running isn't an option, huh—" Aliken thought. "Then let's play."
A few seconds later, Jeremy turned his gaze toward the devil.
"Now... what should I do with you? Kill you? Or use you?"
"Don't think you've won, human!" Aliken roared, unleashing his full power without restraint.
He was stronger than Bevrel, but due to his unconventional class, he couldn't overpower the other devil in a clean fight.
Not that it mattered now—Bevrel was dead.
Then, a blood-red book materialized from thin air.
"Hellscript Synthesis." he shouted, as if yelling would grant him more power.
Opening his palms, the book flipped open. Its pages fluttered wildly, as if alive.
Then—
These seemingly blank pages evaporated, and from them emerged strange entities.
They had no physical form, more spiritual than corporeal. Physical attacks couldn't destroy them.
Bevrel had managed to eliminate such entities because of his Concept, Annihilation, which could erase anything—even the non-physical.
That's why Aliken had never managed to surpass Bevrel, despite their difference in raw power.
"Incredible..." Jeremy murmured, watching the summoned creatures. "He's actually a kind of summoner too?"

Aliken's abilities were undeniably powerful. No doubt about that.
He had summoned six figures around him.
Four of them radiated a power slightly weaker than the remaining two. These four were embodiments of Laws. They could be considered Rank S beings—but far stronger, since their summoner was Rank EX.
The other two... were Concepts.
"Let's see how you handle this now, human!" the devil grinned from ear to ear. Now, like Jeremy, he had allies. The battlefield would finally be balanced.
His thoughts were justified—but would things really play out that way?
